94 points for the 2025 Akarua Chardonnay. 🍷
A wonderful accolade from Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, who praises this Chardonnay as “seductive, complex, intriguing, and full of youthful vibrancy.”
White fruits, stone fruits, and citrus blend with a subtle minerality, while a hint of salinity rounds out the finish.
This distinction celebrates the character of the 2025 vintage and the hard work our teams put in every day.
Thank you to Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, for this recognition.
Please drink responsibly.

One terroir. Three distinct expressions.
The same terroir gives rise to three distinct expressions. The Siren, our most exclusive cuvée, offers a more intense and profound interpretation. Chardonnay, for its part, stands out for its precision and mineral tension. Pinot Noir, fickle and demanding, reveals all its freshness and fruitiness.
Three wines, one shared standard: that of a unique terroir defined by altitude, temperature variation, and schist soils.

Every tasting tells the story of a place.
Even at this stage, tasted straight from the amphora, the wine already reveals its origin: a precise freshness, and a purity of fruit.
Long before it reaches the bottle, the imprint of the soil is already there, The schist soils of Central Otago, unique in New Zealand, absorb the warmth of the day and gently release it through the night, helping to shape the balance, ripeness and energy of our grapes.
Please drink responsibly.

Not so long ago, Pinot Noir was still a relatively young chapter in New Zealand's wine story. Today, it has become the country's most widely planted red grape variety and one of its most celebrated wines around the world.
This remarkable rise was made possible by the growers and winemakers who recognised its potential long before international acclaim followed.
In Bannockburn, Central Otago, Pinot Noir has found an exceptional home for almost three decades. Here, dramatic temperature shifts and distinctive schist soils shape wines of purity, vibrancy and intensity, with a character all their own.
On August 18, we celebrate the journey of this extraordinary grape.

Winter has settled over Bannockburn.
The vines stand bare beneath Central Otago's crisp skies, while pruning quietly begins across the vineyard. Patient and precise, each cut helps shape the balance and quality of the next vintage.
One vine at a time, winter lays the foundations for the season to come.

Honouring a career that has brought two winemaking worlds together.
We are proud to share that Anne Escalle, General Manager of Edmond de Rothschild Heritage New Zealand, has been appointed Knight of the French National Order of Agricultural Merit by the French Embassy in New Zealand.
This prestigious distinction honours nearly three decades dedicated to the world of wine. Throughout her career, Anne has built bridges between French winemaking expertise and New Zealand's pioneering spirit, demonstrating that excellence is measured not only by the wines themselves, but also by the way vineyards are cared for, teams are led, and the land is respected.
Today, Anne's leadership continues to shape Rimapere and Akarua, where the same commitment to authenticity, excellence and respect for New Zealand's remarkable terroirs guides every vintage.
Congratulations, Anne, on this well-deserved honour.

A new recognition for Akarua, as two wines from our Bannockburn vineyard have been awarded 94 and 93 points by New Zealand wine critic Candice Chow
Akarua Chardonnay 2025 — 94 pts
Fermented in French oak barrels and amphorae, this Chardonnay reveals a generous palette of stone fruit, melon, and butterscotch, with a remarkable texture and beautiful oak harmony.
Akarua Pinot Noir 2024 — 93 pts
Both powerful and elegant, it reveals aromas of black cherry, licorice, and clove, supported by silky tannins and a long, mineral finish.
Two distinct expressions of Bannockburn, shaped by the intensity and purity of Central Otago.
Please drink responsibly
