The vines have done their work for another year!
For Daniel, it’s another chapter in a story that began in Marlborough back in 1983.
For Lee, it’s his 22nd vintage at No.1, and this one? Possibly the most remarkable yet.
A mild spring, zero frost, and Pinot Meunier kicking into veraison in early January meant we were picking weeks ahead of schedule, finishing up on 2nd March, a date that in any other year would just be getting started.
The wines are telling us stone fruit, great acidity, and plenty of promise. We won’t rush them that’s not the No.1 way but when the first 2026 bottles are ready, we have a feeling they’ll be worth the wait.
For now, harvest is in, the valley is quiet (well, for us anyway), and we’re already thinking about what comes next!!
✨ Méthode Marlborough Day is this Friday. The perfect excuse to pull out your favourite No.1 Méthode and raise a glass to another incredible Marlborough harvest!
