🧅✨ New-season NZ shallots are here!
A few tasty ways to use them right now:
1. Simple shallot vinaigrette
Finely mince 1–2 shallots, add:
• 3 tbsp olive oil
• 1 tbsp red wine vinegar
• pinch salt & pepper
Let it sit 10 minutes → amazing on salads or roasted veg.
2. Quick pickled shallots
Slice thinly and pour over:
• ½ cup vinegar
• ½ cup warm water
• 1 tsp sugar
• ½ tsp salt
Ready in ~30 minutes. Great on tacos, burgers, or grain bowls.
3. Shallot butter
Mix softened butter + finely minced shallot + lemon zest + salt.
Perfect on steak, fish, or grilled veg.
4. Crispy fried shallots
Thin slice, dust lightly with flour, fry until golden. Sprinkle on noodles, salads, mashed potatoes.
