Yesterday Tom had the privilege to judge the Wimera show in Horsham Victoria Australia. Tom judged the strong and medium wools with Dainel Rodgers doing the super fine and fine wools and the fine mediums were slit between the two of us.

The quality of sheep was out standing which made the judging challenging... just the way it should be. With no arguments between judges the job was a pleasure.

Congratulations to the millers from Glenpaen Merinos for winning Grand Champion Ram and Robert Harding from Glendonald Merino for winning Grand Champion Ewe which went on to win supreme exhibit.
Congratulations also go to Orrie Cowie Merinos for taking out most successful exhibitor.

Starting early to beat the rain!

Its been a big week of recording data in the studs.

Post weaning weights and dag scores taken on the 2025 drop lambs

Pre joining weight and condition score on the stud ewes.

Some highlights were the growth rates on the lambs, with the Ram lambs averaging 280g/day since weaning on the 5th of Jan to average 50kg at 6months old with no drenches since weaning.

Stud ewes (1/3 of which are maidens) averaging 68kg at CS 3.5

Right where we aim to be fast growing healthy lambs and moderate adult ewe cutting 6.5kg of quality 18um wool. An efficient and profitable package.
