Workshop closure!
The JDP Saddlery family are taking a highly anticipated and well deserved holiday.
The workshop will be closed from the 25th June - 6th July.
Website orders will also be on hold and processed on the 6th July.
We apologise for any inconvenience and looking forward to climbing back into things upon return.

Now is a great time, while things are a bit quiet on the farm, to get any repairs done on saddles, tack and other gear that’s been on the “to do list” for a while
This Pearce East saddle has come in for some repairs recently, receiving a new seat, girth billets, new saddle staples and some other small patch ups.

The latest project off the stand. A fully refurbished pack saddle using the original bars and arches, which are stamped D MASON & SONS, BIRMINGHAM, 1914. Very fitting given that upon completion we remembered ANZAC day.
Mostly kept to tradition, apart from a few small changes like ditching the crupper/britchen to a spider britchen and adding latigos instead of girth billets. The straw padding was ditched for wool flocking wrapped in heavy canvas as opposed to hessian. The original pack strap rings were retro fitted to the new straps to keep some of the heritage alive
A very cool project to give 100+ year old saddle a new life and to be used for many more years to come.
Canvas pannier bags and a manti tarpaulin were also made matching the canvas pads to complete everything.

Dog covers, dog beds and puffer/rain jackets

It’s that time of year where things are cooling off so it’s a good time to get organised for winter. We offer a variety of sizes of dog covers and beds or can patch up your existing ones. It’s also a chance to get those main zips replaced on your rain or puffer jackets. $50 for a main zip replacement. Get your orders in quick as it can be a 2-3 week wait on getting products sent out.
