Argentina is my eldest girl, age a bit uncertain. First registered in 2000, thought to be 26 or 27. Based on when she decided to no longer have cria, I would say this is about right. On Friday she displayed a badly swollen cheek, I immediately thought it might be a tooth issue. With some intrepidation I brought her in and opened it up - to my surprise I pulled out 2 seed heads. Managed to press out the pus and this morning the swelling had gone down a lot. I think we're on top of it. She was a champion through both procedures, guanaco girls do not generally like to be told what to do, she is wonderful !! . . .

The packing boys came down from their pasture for a good brush and fibre check, toe nail check, conditioning check and a long walk. Plus it is nice to have them next to the house for couple of days. They're looking forward to a few treks this summer. Great thing about these guanaco/llama types is they never put on weight and with their exercise on the hills maintains top muscle tone. Ready to pack . . . .
