Wilfield Sheep Stud We specialise in Corriedales. We combine the use of good stockmanship with science and technology.

Our Corriedales are open headed footrot resistant,highly fertile, meatier, and fine woolled, 24-28 micron.The ultimate dual purpose sheep.

This is how we feed our Stud Corriedale ewes.
They get a daily break of annual rye grass, plus grass and clover baleage.
These ewes are due to be pregnancy scanned soon.
Their wool is also due to be sold soon, on a rising market.

These are our Corriedale Ram hoggets enjoying their winter brassica feed.
They get a daily strip of crop and lucerne baleage.
For May 2026,we have recorded the least amount of rainfall ever!!
Only 5 mls!!

Today we completed shearing our Corriedale Stud ewes. Very pleased with the quality and quantity of the fleeces .
The ewes are in excellent condition after a favourable season.

Wilfield ewes coming in to be sorted for mating , late March. This year we have used 9 Corriedale Stud Rams, including our recently purchased Ram from Quamby Plains, Australia. Each ewe is joined with her chosen Ram for 2 cycles.

Wilfield 1211/24 sold today for a very good price of $6,500. His fine 21.7 micron wool attracted a bidding dual before being sold to Closeburn Station.

Wilfield1335/24 is also going to the Canterbury Elite Ram Sale this Friday. Lot 4 : He is 25.2 micron Footscore 1-2 : His Dam has weaned all 15 lambs , from 7 lambing’s. To date the Dam has produced 4 Flock Rams and 2 Stud ewes , plus this Ram. LWB BV puts Wilfield 1335 in the top 5% of all breeds for growth.

Wilfield1211/24 21.7 micron.This Ram is in the Canterbury Elite Ram sale on Nov.28, 2025. Footscore 1-1. Lot3. He is the first crop sired by Wattlebank 65/22- CHCH Royal Show Corriedale Champion Ram 2025. Wilfield1211’s mother, lambed as a hogget and had triplets as a 2 tooth. Wilfield1211/24 is in the top 9% for growth, on SIL.
