No pictures - cause who has a chance when you got 2 horses in the 105 ODE?!
But soooo extremely happy with my amazing horses, I'm still not sure how I ended up with 2 superstars, but forever grateful to be able to do this, and with the amazing support from my long suffering husband - who even got dragged into jump judging today!
Pumpkin did a solid dressage test of 68%, and then a beautiful double clear (with just a few xc time faults) to end on 4th place, Trav did a very average test, but felt super on xc - i just knocked with my knee a flag on a skinny coming out the water, so we got 9P, a few time P, and 1 pesky SJ pole - to end up 6th!
There were only 4 clear xc rounds out of 18, so a decent course & my 2 ate it up!!
Enjoying some w**e with Lens fabulous cooking tonight, whilst I try come down from the high!

Its been a loong time - about 18 months and we are now on a different island!
Ponies are all "pimped up", car and float packed, nerves are kicking in, & will hopefully get some sleep tonight!
Our first run back at 105 tomorrow at the Canterbury ODE at National Equestrian Centre Mcleans Island Road!

Thankfuly we didn't get wet, though it was not warm out there and dusted off some cobwebs going round the 1m & 1.10m!
(The ponies were a bit embarrassed to go out in public in their clips though!)

Arena hire

I'm opening up my 60 x 30 regularly harrowed sand arena for some limited hire on my private property on Oxford road, Fernside.

Often will have jumps (usually at least 1 grid), and/or poles set up, and sometimes set up for a dressage practice. Welcome to check whats set up before booking, or ask for requests...
It's well draining, and a decent surface, but I wouldn't advise jumping above about 1m in it.
Good area to park and turn around in, and respectful use of the washbay included.
$10 per horse per hour, the arena could possibly be shared with grazer and/or myself. Could do private hire by prior agreement at $20.

Contact me on this page or send me a text on 022 390 4661.

So glad we planted some fruit trees etc on the weekend - not sure if snow is good for them though?! Don't think the chooks, horses or dogs approve either! Its a pity its not settling, but still pretty cool!

Just love a freshly harrowed arena! & will be having fun starting the horses over some poles again.

When you horses won't initally go near the scary thing in their paddock, thats especially for them! "Spoilt" not so brave brats! (Though I do think some sort of paddock shelter is more of a basic neccesity than a luxury!)🐴😂
& then eventually figure out its pretty awesome!
Thanks out sheds and shelters. Hopefully we can get another 1 soon...

Guess its time to update this page, as our 1st grazer should be arriving within the next week at our new location in Fernside!

A good end to our season at equestrian groups North Island champs, where Pumpkin "redeemed" herself after a tense dressage which had her in 5th to jump a BEAUTIFUL double clear inside the time to finish 2nd. Trav had a decent dressage, and was 3rd, but unfortunately a few time penalties xc (stupid fake horse he took a disliking to!) & then being a bit tired on the last day, & taking an uncharacteristic 3 rails sj dropped him out the placings. Now on to our holiday! Will be back online next week. 😊
Pics of an unimpressed Pumpkin at prize-giving! 😋
