A good end to our season at equestrian groups North Island champs, where Pumpkin "redeemed" herself after a tense dressage which had her in 5th to jump a BEAUTIFUL double clear inside the time to finish 2nd. Trav had a decent dressage, and was 3rd, but unfortunately a few time penalties xc (stupid fake horse he took a disliking to!) & then being a bit tired on the last day, & taking an uncharacteristic 3 rails sj dropped him out the placings. Now on to our holiday! Will be back online next week. 😊

Pumpkin did a good job at Eventing Northland - real 105, coming 3rd, after just breathing on 1 pole sj and only 4 time penalties xc to add to her 74% dressage. Trav, had a great clear sj, and unfortunately 1 stop at the water jump, but jumped it confidentialy at the 2nd attempt - so not all was lost!
We have 1 last event for the season that we are gearing towards - hopefully we can finish strong at matamata horse trials in a couple of weeks.

We are hopefully ready for Eventing Northland - real. I can't believe I managed to pack everything for 2 people, 2 horses and 2 dogs in the ute! 😛
I guess this is 1 way to "take a break" from all the painting! 😳

Shew! We cut 2 paddocks today of hay for the 1st time. Was expecting about 200 bales, we got 318!!That was a lot of lift...

Shew! We cut 2 paddocks today of hay for the 1st time. Was expecting about 200 bales, we got 318!!
That was a lot of lifting! Looks like good quality hay though, so pretty cool.
So we have about 100 extra for sale if anyone wants.. 😊

Pumpkin redeemed her 2023 elimination at Puhinui International Three Day Event New Zealand, by coming 2nd this weekend, just adding 1.6 time penalties to her dressage score in the 95cm. 🥳 It was also her 1st competition on her own - which she found tough, but survived!
