Untamed Earth Organic Farm

Untamed Earth Organic Farm We are a certified organic market garden farm selling seasonal produce through our shop and farmers markets

We're a group of mud-loving organic farmers driven by our passions. Caring for the soil, the world around us, and the people in our community, is at the heart of what we do. We run two organic farms, just south of Ōtautahi/Christchurch. We grow staples like carrots, broccoli, and lettuce, as well as some things you won’t find on the supermarket shelves. All told, we grow over forty different kinds

of fruit, vegetables, and herbs on 60 acres of organic market gardens. Our range is constantly changing with the seasons, so you know that everything you buy is always fresh and sustainably grown. You’ll find us at the Lyttleton, Ohoka and Opawa farmers’ markets, and if you miss us there you can order one of our customisable fruit and vegetable boxes for home delivery. We supply also Piko Wholefoods, Cultivate Christchurch, and some of Ōtautahi’s top cafés and restaurants. All of our produce is organically certified with Asurequality #1238.

Sanguine peaches, Golden Queen peaches and Jewel peaches are coming into season and we've been lucky enough to get our mittens on some. From Finnians spray-free orchard, these Canterbury locals love caring for their grove of delicious summer time fruits. And we love eating them!
Find them at our shop and markets.

We are letting some of our potatoes size up now that we're in the full swing of things. You'll be familiar with our super spud deal, but in the spirit of a new year we have introduced a new freezer into our shop and we will be making some organic frozen chippies out of these beauties! Get your ovens on!

Buttercup squash has made it's way back into our shop and markets, and hopefully into your ovens or stoves for a cosy making meal! These wonderful cucurbit's roast really well whole. Chop out the stem, scoop out the insides and season inside and replace the stem/hat, bake until cooked and add a little cream into the soft flesh inside for a very easy, deliciously comforting vegetable moment.

As the cycle of grow, harvest and regenerate continues, so does the sprouting of new crops. There's always things to look forward to, even if that's eating good greens!

Farming can be really hard sometimes, but we know how much a bit of help from the community can help.

These nice farmers from Pirongia Mountain Vegetables in the Waikato need a helping hand to get the farm back into shape after some massive flooding. Some of their paddocks have been stripped of soil, and crops have been washed away or destroyed. If you can spare some cash, it'll go to good use getting their farm back in shape.

We locally grow and sell garlic, potato's and other vegetables based on sustainable, clean, natural farming practices.

We've had some out friends out in Ohoka supply us with these amazing heirloom tomatoes- if you haven't tried a Capri before, this weekend is the last time we'll have them in store! They are a low acid, incredible eating tomato. Very yummy and highly recommended by all of us 🍅
