Get in early to secure your spot before the fireworks! Smoke 'n' Barrel Restaurant & Catering cranking in the beer garden.

It's all happening in New Brighton tonight, and the fireworks are just the finish.

Come down early and make a night of it.

From early afternoon the kitchens at The Drift are firing: Jaeju, Kung Fu Dumplings, Alt Kitchen and Sweet As.

Pull up at Southpaw for a cold local brew with low and slow barbecue from Smoke 'n' Barrel right beside it, or proper South Indian at Chanakya.

Live sets and family fun on the Village Green from 4pm.

Then the pier lights up at 7.30. Find your spot, watch the sky go off, and kick on after.

Eat, drink, listen, watch.

Come on down on Wednesday and join in - there’s something for everyone and plenty of beer to choose from when you finish

Our 1 year anniversary since launching back will be happening this Wednesday (July 1st) at our usual time of 6pm! We will be following our usual weekly agenda of meeting at Southpaw Brewing Company at 6pm for a run/walk. Afterwards we will have food and social chats.

We would love for this to be a big occasion. A facebook event has been created, if you plan on coming along we'd encourage you to register as 'going'. If you do you will enter a draw to win some merch that we have on the way.

Some people have already mentioned bringing baking, we'd love for others to bring some food as well if you feel like sharing something with the group. Otherwise food and drink will be available to order from Southpaw.

We would love for this to be our biggest event yet despite the cold conditions. We would love for you to come along whether you're a regular, first timer or someone who has not joined in for a while.

P.S. Dress up is encouraged although entirely optional 😃

This beer needs no introduction.

An absolute Southpaw classic and crowd favourite, the first Hazy IPA we ever brewed and packaged, and still a beer people keep coming back for.

Cool Papa is our US/NZ Hazy IPA. Full bodied, soft and juicy from massive amounts of oat malt, flaked barley and flaked oats, creating that signature pillowy mouthfeel we keep chasing.

Loaded with US Mosaic alongside NZ Motueka & Nectaron, bringing huge aromas and layers of citrus juice, tropical fruit and subtle spice.

Pale, opaque and an absolute thing of beauty.

Two new releases, straight from bine to brewhouse.

First Pick // Fresh Hop West Coast IPA 6.0%
Loaded with fresh Nectaron, ripe nectarine, peach, citrus bite and a proper bitter snap.

Home Field // Fresh Hop Farmhouse Harvest Ale 4.5%
Fresh Motueka bringing lime zest, herbs and that green, just-picked character. Finished dry with a rustic farmhouse edge.

Both pouring now at the Taproom and select venues.

Home Field also rolling out in 440ml cans from the Taproom, our online store and your favourite retailers.
