Going to Bunnings for “just one thing” 🛒🔨 is one of adulthood’s biggest traps 😂

You walk in needing something simple…
Then somehow leave an hour later with:

🔥 New BBQ tools
🧂 Extra rubs
🪵 Smoking wood chunks
🍺 A new chilly bin
🪴 Random stuff for the backyard

…and somehow still forget the thing you originally went in for 🤣🦍

Bonus points if you stop for a yarn with another bloke in the BBQ aisle about smokers you can’t afford 😂🔥

The smoker has been quiet lately.

After a rough couple of weeks with health problems, and then farewelling my Dad recently , family needed to come first. I’ve also been finding my feet in the new job at Northbeach Beergarden which is now up and running with food service and beers not far away from being poured.

Thank you to everyone who has shown kindness, understanding, and support during this time ❤️

I’m ready to get back into it and will be cooking again this Sunday.

🦍🍺 Garth’s Tips #12 🍺🦍

There’s always one person who says:
“Nah I’m not really hungry tonight.” 😂

Then the meat comes off the smoker 🔥🍖 and suddenly they’re hovering around the chopping board like a seagull at the beach 👀🤣

“Just a little bit to try…”
“Only one piece…”

Next minute they’ve had three servings and are asking if there’s leftovers to take home 😂🦍🔥

The smell of BBQ changes people. Science probably can’t explain it… but Garth understands. 🍖🤣

You know it’s a proper BBQ session when everyone starts off sitting inside nice and relaxed 🍺😂… then slowly drifts outside to stand around the smoker like it’s a campfire 🔥👀

Nobody’s actually helping.
Nobody really knows what’s going on.
But suddenly everyone becomes an expert 🤣

“Needs another half hour.”
“Temp dropped a bit there.”
“Should’ve wrapped it already.”

Meanwhile Garth’s standing there with the tongs 🦍🍖 acting like he’s running a world championship cookoff instead of cooking dinner on a Tuesday night 😂🔥
