MISS SAIGON BRINGS SUCCESS FOR STYX RIVER FARM
After winning the Roan Colour Championship at the Wi******er A&P Show on 7th March 2026 she backed it up with the Female Roan Champion at the Malvern Colourama Show on 28th March. We are very proud of our 13 month old Miss Saigon.

Catherine Rietveld of Styx River Farm and Hannah Williams-Blakey of "Animal Aroha", are collaborating to bring a new experience for neurodivergent people and their caregivers.

We will facilitate “Alpaca / Donkey Aroha” a unique experience on our farm that will provide an alpaca and donkey encounter to meet the needs of the people attending. The encounter will take up to an hour.

The experience can include

Stroking an alpaca
Leading an alpaca
Being photographed with an alpaca and / or donkey
Sitting in a paddock and letting the alpacas come to you
Meeting Harry the donkey
Grooming and feeding Harry
Watching the alpacas over the fence
Choosing the “I am not a Llama” book, a resin alpaca figurine or a felted alpaca toy.
Additional books, alpaca figurines or felted toys and alpaca cushions may be purchased separately from the on-farm shop.
The “Alpaca / Donkey Aroha” encounter will cater for up to two people and one caregiver so that we can keep the encounter as calm and personal as possible.

We will reserve the right to postpone the event if it is raining.

We accept carer support payments; you will be invoiced prior to the event and payment is expected on receipt of invoice.

Please note that Styx River Farm is a working farm, and you will be required to follow the instructions of your guide. There will be a safety briefing at the beginning of your encounter.

There are no toilet facilities outside on the farm.

You are advised to make your booking well in advance as Alpaca / Donkey Aroha tours are limited.

Two of our new cria! Styx River Miss Saigon - brown girl and Styx River Grace - a white. They are delightful girls and I never tire of hanging over the fence and watch them frolic in the paddock!
