CARDRONA ALPINE RESORT just outside WĀNAKA
The other thing we decided to do being in NZ over the winter was to go SKIING (or what you want to call it….)The day we went on the 29th of JUNE Cardrona had only been open for two days and only about 15 cm of snow. Enough for us and not very busy but later that week they got a big dump of snow 👍 and would then have opened more slopes and gotten a LOT busier.
That one slope was enough for my skill level anyway…..🤣
It was a beautiful sunny day etc etc but if I NEVER go skiing again I’m all good! 😂🤣

AUTUMN / WINTER photos from spots we visit/drive past every day but we often ”forget” to appreciate the everyday beauty of our own surroundings….because we see it every day and take it for granted.

AUCKLAND and riding on MURIWAI BEACH about 40 minutes drive north of Auckland.
Since the situation around the world was and STILL IS very unstable I decided to stay put in NZ this May/June/July instead of heading to Malsjö, Värmland, Sweden….very tough decision BUT Anna & I flew to Auckland for a few days early June to visit the newly opened first 🇸🇪 IKEA🇸🇪 store in NZ as ”consolation”…..there’s even a H & M shop in the same shopping complex (Sylvia Park)…..it’s not looking promising at the moment really BUT HOPEFULLY the world will look different next May/June/July 🤞🤞🤞

FINALLY in May the Forestry Crew made it to us to do a bit more heavy duty tidying up and wood chipping since the October Storm. Most of these photos are from the bottom of Paddock 2, 3 and 4 Kotorp.

On the subject of my beloved horses….in June we farewelled LIVA from Denmark 🇩🇰 who spent 6 months with us working in the Ranui Dairy Shed and with Liva being a Top Class Dressage Rider she trained and competed my old girl ”TILLY” while she was here.
We went to a few dressage competitions, dressage lessons and a saddle fitting clinic together. Thank you so much Liva for all your work with Tilly and I thoroughly enjoyed all our ”horsey trips” together. You did a fantastic job with Tilly and I’m going to do my best to try to keep it up and carry on where you finished.
Hopefully there will be some competing on my behalf this year 🤞
