Hi everyone, the Government is looking at potentially relaxing New Zealand’s 28-day homekill rule for the first time in 20 years.
This could make it easier for Kiwis to access cheaper, locally produced prime meat. But there’s still a consultation underway, so nothing has been decided yet.
I’ll put the official MPI submission link in the comments. If you’ve got an opinion, have your say — this could make a real difference for Kiwi families and farmers across the country.

All go as we head south for a few days for the Rural Butchery Conference in Christchurch .

Our Mincer Mixer is getting a birthday, The trucks getting new air bags put in.

We've been up early tearing around getting everything done ready for our flight south this afternoon.

The big 643kg steer is ageing nicely, but check out the rest of the prime beef we have hanging up. Especially the Hereford Heifer . Check out that marbling!
