🎉 Our ten year anniversary is just around the corner – time flies by when you're having fun!

🌱 We've learned a lot over those years – from humble beginnings with one garden serving local breweries in our region to shipping hops around New Zealand and the world.

🤝 The best part by far is the relationships we've built – an incredible team full of great people, inspiring and creative brewers around the world, connecting with the local community and the farming community.

🍺 Our story started with a love of b**r, an idea and that first plant going into the Tree Surround garden on the 30th of October 2016. Ten years on, there's so many people that are a part of story and we can't wait to share some fun stories, inspirational moments and people, and lessons learned over the coming weeks.

The sun is settling in and the long days have arrived, how good!

With the hops starting to grow tall and end of year celebrations just around the corner, we'd love to hear if you'd be interested in a lunch among the bines and tour of the hop farm for your work – or social – function.

Still a bit of snow on the mountains, still a bit wet down on the farm, still as beautiful as ever. Spring is in full swing, stringing is underway and the hops are growing, what a wonderful time of year!

🌱 In just a few months the gardens will be full of plants, serene as ever.

⛄ Spring is officially here but there's certainly a bit of winter lingering around the farm.

We're always ready for four seasons in one day in Southland – the hops don't mind at all. Plants are starting to grow, string is getting strung and we're already excited for next year's crop!

Snow is falling and settling around parts of the region! Looking very snowy at Garston Hops this avo! Snow is also falling in places like Naseby. Has it made it to your place yet?

This award from Southland Business Chamber is a recognition of our innovative approach to the work behind growing a Southland project for international markets, and we couldn't be prouder!

We are absolutely buzzing that our work is being recognised and want to extend a huge thanks to all those breweries that have supported us and the whole team at Garston Hops – past and present – it takes a village to harvest a hop farm. 🌱

🍻 Featured Brew // It's got to be Hopsy by Tree House Brewing Company. An ode to the bestest boy at Garston, Hops the dog! A blend of our hops including Motueka, Rakau, Cascade, and Nelson Sauvin, fill the air with aromas of Sauvignon Blanc, candied citrus peel, and passionfruit juice. A touch of German Hallertau Mittelfrüh rounds out these fruity notes with a crisp earthy bitterness and flavors of lemon peel and noble spice.
