🏆 We were so excited to take home the 2026 Rio Tinto | NZAS Innovation in Export Award over the weekend!

This award from Southland Business Chamber is a recognition of our innovative approach to the work behind growing a Southland project for international markets, and we couldn't be prouder!

We are absolutely buzzing that our work is being recognised and want to extend a huge thanks to all those breweries that have supported us and the whole team at Garston Hops – past and present – it takes a village to harvest a hop farm. 🌱

An oldie but a goodie! Garage Project's Picking Hops in the Snow in its natural habitat. ❄

Released back in 2003, Garage project had been playing around with the impact of different terroirs. The hops that went into this b**r were picked in the snow – hence the name – and the result was a truly unique taste of the south.

🌏 We're proud to be growers of the world's southernmost hops and with that comes a unique flavour profile. No one is growing hops in conditions quite like ours and it's a combination of our latitude, daylight hours, climate, soil, and the way we farm at Garston Hops that gives the hops a distinct character.

🍻 Featured Brew // Alvarado Street Brewery x Garage Project Lupo Luggage Hazy Double IPA infused with our Nelson Sauvin, which brings unparalleled levels of terroir driven hop character. A wave of passion fruit and diesel cascades out of the glass followed by a spray of concentrated orange oil punctuated with subtle grassy and spicy notes. And then things really take off. A carousel of peach rings, mangoes, gooseberry jam and key limes are packed into every last, pillowy drop. 👌

🍻 Featured Brew // It's got to be Hopsy by Tree House Brewing Company. An ode to the bestest boy at Garston, Hops the dog! A blend of our hops including Motueka, Rakau, Cascade, and Nelson Sauvin, fill the air with aromas of Sauvignon Blanc, candied citrus peel, and passionfruit juice. A touch of German Hallertau Mittelfrüh rounds out these fruity notes with a crisp earthy bitterness and flavors of lemon peel and noble spice.
