Feeding our local community since May 2026. Did you know that we are only 20km from Gisborne city centre ? That’s some low food miles. Farm fresh eggs that you really can’t beat. Official introduction of Maranui Station Eggs

Alright team thought it was about time we did a proper introduction. Although the girls (chickens) are the main show of this business I thought you might want to know who you’re supporting behind the eggs.
We are the Whiteheads. We lease Abby’s family farm in the beautiful Ormond, Gisborne, Tairawhiti area. Maranui Station is a sheep and beef farm. Abby is the chicken manager and George is the sheep and beef manager. Willow, Fergus and Sylvie are our main side kicks who help out all things farming. Willow loves the chickens, lambs and dogs. Fergus loves shearing, hunting and literally anything and everything on the farm with George. Sylvie loves cows, lambs and eggs.

Maranui Station Eggs was brought about with the idea of being able to bring a good egg to our local community. I’ve had a backyard flock for years and have always loved knowing how my hens are treated and what goes in to them to make a good egg for me to eat. I enjoy health and fuelling my body with good food that I know where it’s come from (when possible). Sometimes I forget to make dinner and I love being able to whip up an easy quick healthy dinner for my family full of protein and all the good stuff in a good old scrambled egg.

We are passionate farmers. We love our whenua (land) and our animals and we especially love being able to bring a solid product to help feed our local community here in tairahwiti.

Rats (ew)
Stoats
Folding washing
Howling Southerly

Thank you for supporting our little family business and believing in our idea of bringing a beautiful product of farm fresh pasture raised eggs to our local community. Our main goal is to help feed tairawhiti. We are committed to being small as that’s all that we can handle (lol). Life sure is busy here at Maranui Station.

My lovely parents are manning the stall this morning for me at the Gisborne Farmers Market 🍎🌽🥚🥑🥕. Pop on down and say hi and support your local farmers and local community. Also shout outs to parents who are supportive - the real MVPs. This little family business wouldn’t be possible without our village.

Our beautiful pasture raised eggs are ready for you to enjoy delivered to your door. We are bringing back the deliveries finally thanks to our beautiful flock growing and giving us more eggs. So you know what to do - if you want dozens or trays delivered straight to your door flick me a message. First delivery is tomorrow (Wednesday 9th of September. Free delivery if you get 3 or more people ordering :)
