A busy week in the vineyard. First stage of our replanting with chardonnay mendoza, chenin blanc, verdot petit, cabernet sauvignon, merlot and malbec. Excited to have them in the ground. Thanks to our planting team and our boys.

More plants to come in November with chenin blanc, merlot, gewurztraminer and cabernet sauvignon yet to be planted. We are looking forward to bringing our customers some new varietals/flavours. You will have to wait though! This process will take us up to 4 years before we have our first flavours in the bottle.

We’ve got some pretty cool things lined up for you this Labour Saturday. A special evening planned at Wrights Vineyard & W**ery with Hihi W**es.

Labour Saturday 24 October | 5–8pm

We’ve got good music from local acoustic singer-songwriter Natasha Lee, with her soulful voice and unique takes on familiar favourites, 2 local w**eries showing off 4 amazing award-winning w**es, presented by the w**emakers themselves (collectively bringing home 4 Gold medals, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze between the 4 w**es), and freshly made gourmet pizzas...

Our son Eli Wright is on a mission. The Titirangi Mt. Everest Challenge Community has started today.

His personal goal is to be the first person to make the first Mt Everest climb (68 climbs), do the most climbs and have the winning team. These are big asks!!!

He has had a good start, woke up at 4.30am with his brother Luke and did 12 climbs this morning. That's 20km of running this morning. Already on top of the leader board with his brother Luke 2nd. I hear they are now off for a surf. This is insane. This challenge runs for 7 weeks. 68 climbs to make Mt Everest. I have posted his stats. How many climbs will he do over 7 weeks? If you want you get one guess - mention in comment below - winner will receive a magnum of red w**e, valued over $150.

His reason is he is doing it for his brother Noah Wright (he does not have bowel cancer) and raise funds for bowel cancer which can be made here on this link - https://youcanforcancer.org.nz/debbie-hutchings
