We get asked this A LOT. In fact, when we tell people we grow yuzu, we're usually met with a blank stare....followed by "A what?" 😂

Yuzu is a unique Japanese citrus with bright, floral, aromatic flavours - often described as a mix of mandarin, grapefruit and lemon. (But it is definitely NOT a lemon!)

At Nine Trees, we've spent years growing yuzu right here in Gisborne (despite the giant thorns trying their best to stop us), and we use it in our Gold Medal winning Yuzu Juice Soda and freeze dried yuzu powder.

So next time someone asks "what's a yuzu?" you'll know exactly what to tell them (or just hand them a can of our soda!)

What's in our soda?
10% yuzu juice, from yuzu grown right here in Gisborne. That's why there's pulp in it - because it's real juice, not extract 🙌

How good do these Snapper Sliders with Yuzu Aioli look? The catering team at Gisborne Good Food have perfected their yuzu aioli recipe by adding our freeze dried yuzu powder. YUM!

(We can also confirm it is excellent mixed into good old Best Foods Mayo if you want to look fancy but don't have the time 😁)

Our soda is simple- no ingredients that you've never heard of. No artificial flavours or colours, and 10% Gisborne grown yuzu juice in every can...the more yuzu we grow, the more soda we make. Easy.
