9 Hours Per Week

Walter Findlay Ltd is a proud family-owned company that has been baking bread in Gisborne for over 100 years. We also manufacture food coatings for both the New Zealand and international markets and have been doing so for over 20 years. We bake and deliver fresh bread and a variety of food products from Hicks Bay to Wairoa.

We are currently seeking a reliable and physically capable Merchandiser to represent our locally baked bread products in the Wairoa supermarket. Join a company that takes pride in delivering fresh, quality products to our local communities.

About the Role

Your responsibilities will include:

Packing orders according to paperwork
Merchandising products to ensure shelves remain fully stocked
Processing returns
Completing daily documentation
Maintaining Food Safety and hygiene standards
Providing excellent customer service
What You'll Need
Previous merchandising experience (preferred)
Reliability and punctuality
Accuracy and attention to detail
A valid NZ driver's licence and reliable transport
A positive attitude
Flexibility to provide cover when required
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Commitment to Health & Safety and Good Manufacturing Practices
Physical fitness, with the ability to lift and move bread and milk crates
Eligibility to work in New Zealand
Hours of Work

You will complete five merchandising rotations between 5:00am and 5:30pm, including:

5:00am – 6:00am
10:30am – 11:00am
12:30pm – 1:00pm
2:30pm – 3:00pm
5:00pm – 5:30pm

You will work Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, totaling 9 hours per week, with opportunities to provide additional cover for planned and unplanned leave.

We are currently looking for a reliable, motivated, and physically capable Part-Time Merchandiser to represent our locally baked products in Gisborne supermarkets.

About the Role

This hands-on role is ideal for someone who enjoys staying active, working independently, and delivering excellent customer service.

Your responsibilities will include:

-Packing orders accurately from paperwork
-Merchandising and restocking supermarket shelves
-Processing returns and completing daily documentation
-Maintaining high Food Safety and hygiene standards
-Providing excellent customer service
-Travelling between the bakery, Pak’nSave, and Woolworths stores

What We’re Looking For:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

-Merchandising experience (preferred but not essential)
-Reliability and punctuality
-Strong attention to detail and accuracy
-A full NZ driver’s licence and reliable transport
-A positive attitude and willingness to help the team
-Flexibility to provide cover when required
-The ability to work independently and as part of a team
-Commitment to health, safety, and good manufacturing practices
