Last night as a part of our Kai Oranga class we spent sometime with Lemons and Oranges.
As a part of this learning I made a fresh Lemonade and a fresh orange drink, using whole fruits.
Everyone got to enjoy a drink and see the difference 2 seconds can make in the Thermomix®. Producing a lovely drink for everyone to enjoy 🥰😍🧋

Who has made the Lemonade?

Along with this I also -
1) Milled rock salt - to finer salt
2) Milled sugar into caster sugar
3) Chopped 100 oz of whole oranges for the pot on the stove.

* Reducing plastics/packaging
* Preparing as needed for recipes
* More space in the pantry
* Saving money.

Tonight I did a mix of cooking
1) Brown Sugar
- topping up a kitchen staple I ran out of;
2) Dinner - requested Butter Chicken and rice (few nights dinners);
3) Rich Tomato Relish
- topping up pantry and trying a new recipe.

Super stoked with the kitchen activity tonight and also creating meals and condiments from our garden (Maara Kai). In the pictures is a list of home grown veges and herbs that I used in the relish.
Bonus I also free flow freeze items to help make it easier when making something and when it may not be in season or more expensive at the shops.

I have a few chutneys/relishes/marmalades on my to do list. I am also enjoying making something new each week.

The Thermomix® makes life easier, while you are busy doing something else, it will stir your mixture, keeping it moving and reducing chance of burning, while maintaining the heat at the right temperature. So while the relish was cooking. I could make the Butter Chicken and all from scratch. Including my own tandoori paste. No additives or preservatives in our Kai.
