Hanmer Springs Wines was established in November 2015 on the north-facing slopes of the Hanmer Basin. Light clay soils, on terraces above the Hanmer River provide a great little micro-climate for the 7000 vines of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Riesling and Gruner Veltliner to grow. Currently only selling online and in local stores and restaurants, Hanmer Springs Wines does have plans to eventually open a tasting room and vineyard accommodation.

It’s been a while… after a 2 year hiatus where the birds and sheep got to enjoy the vineyard year round we’re back into it. Getting the vineyard back into shape has taken a bit of work and there’s still much to do, however these little beauties are going great guns considering the mildew pressure and random weather. Fingers crossed for some warm sunny days over the next week or so!
