Decibel, Testify, and Giunta Wines are winemaker's, Daniel Brennan, vision to create wines using classic practices, minimal intervention, and wines with a community based attitude. These are ideas as old as wine itself and he believe strongly in them. However he look to the future as well. He has now had the privilege to work with some of these growers for years and can support their efforts to c

onvert to organics. And as the lineup grows it is with great care to continue to find organic producers to work with. He looks at a time when we use smart practices in the vineyard and the winery that not only inspire but preserve our great planet.

TODAY: WINE. LOTS OF IT. FOR A VERY GOOD CAUSE. 🍷

It started with three Hawke’s Bay winemakers having a conversation in 1991. What if we got the wine industry together and raised some money for the community?

35 years, 1,000+ auction lots and more than $5 million raised for Cranford Hospice later, the Hawke’s Bay Wine Auction is still going. More than 50 local winemakers now contribute, and the auction has become a slightly ridiculous collection of very good wine, from rare cellar releases and one-off blends to 288-bottle barriques.

We’ve gone for something slightly more sensible 😉

Silent Auction Lot 4: six vintages of Testify Red - 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2023 and 2024.

The silent auction is already open online, or if you’re in Hawke’s Bay, you could even head along on tonight and see what’s going under the hammer!

A couple weeks back, we had the absolute pleasure of hosting a trade day at Decibel!

The music was vinyl only (Dan's selections), Fabi's cheese boards were stacked, and all our new and forthcoming releases were flowing.

Throughout the day we had a steady stream of our hospo, retailer, media, and tourism peers coming through to perch on a stool and learn a little more about what we have going on here at . Fun had by all - we'll be making this an annual!

DANNY'S IS BACK THIS SATURDAY 11th! Dan (the Philadelphian), Chef Ben, and the Decibel team will be slinging the Philly classics: cheesesteaks, pork & greens, Italian hoagies and vege/vegan/gf options too of course.

We're excited to complement the food and our wines with a new non-alc offering - say a big hello to Six Barrel Soda Co. who will be fillings the drinks fridge with their fab locally made sodas!

We're delighted to welcome our friend Antoine Sipp —aka Le Sublayeur— to Decibel this Friday night! As a winemaker, he has spent several years following the routes of wine, first across Europe, then in Australia, and now in New Zealand at Paritua Vineyards. He performs wherever the grapes take him.

After a classical training in violin and singing, Le Sublayeur developed a passion for improvised music shaping a style centered on spontaneity and musical freedom. With his guitar and violin, he creates live soundscapes that blend Brazilian harmonies with touches of neo-soul and psychedelic rock, enhanced by colourful vocal harmonies.
