It's great to see solid Trout numbers returning to the upper parts of the Tūtaekurī River after taking a big hit during the cyclone! 🎣

Unfortunately, there is a new aquatic pest - the freshwater golden clam - which spreads very easily. Let's all do our best to prevent it from reaching our beautiful part of the country by making sure our gear is checked, cleaned, and dried before moving between rivers, lakes, or other waterways.

Better late than never.. We hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year! For once, it didn’t rain in the Hawke’s Bay which meant very happy campers.

With a heap of new followers, we thought we better reintroduce ourselves!

We are Willie and Ainsley Hill. Together we have been farming Waiwhenua for the last four years. We farm sheep, beef, and deer as well as operating Waiwhenua River Side Park. The area in which River Park occupies has always been a favourite camping spot for several generations of Willie's family, and since 2015 it's been shared with you all.

You'll be seeing another friendly face around River Park throughout this season - Jo is a local jack of all trades helping us out this year!
