Join Us for our Annual Matariki Planting Day

At Te Aratipi, every guest helps plant a tree.

Over the past year, our guests have walked, stayed, toured, golfed and explored the farm, and now it’s time to get those trees into the ground.

On Saturday 11 July, we’d love to invite our friends, family, guests and wider community to join us for our annual Matariki Planting Day.

Matariki is a time to reflect on the past, celebrate the present and look towards the future. For us, it’s a chance to give back to the land, continue restoring Te Aratipi’s landscapes, and celebrate what we’ve achieved together.

• Saturday 11 July
• 10.00am start
• Native tree planting
• Late lunch together afterwards
• Families welcome
• Friends, neighbours, guests and supporters invited

No experience is necessary — just bring sturdy footwear, weather-appropriate clothing, a spade if you have one, and gardening gloves if you’d prefer not to get your hands dirty (although muddy hands are all part of the experience!).

Whether you stay for an hour or the whole day, we’d love to have you along.

If you’d like to join us, send me a DM and I’ll send through the details.

230 walkers. One fantastic day. One great cause.

On Sunday, approximately 230 Hereworth students, families, staff and supporters joined us at Te Aratipi Station for the Hereworth Family Farm Walk fundraiser.

The weather kept us guessing, with sunshine, showers and everything in between, but it certainly didn’t dampen spirits. It was wonderful to see so many people of all ages out enjoying the farm, the bush, the hills, the views and, most importantly, each other’s company.

From children racing across paddocks to families exploring tracks together, the day was a reminder of the special community that makes Hereworth what it is.

The walk finished with a fantastic BBQ featuring food and drinks generously provided by our sponsors, helping create a wonderful atmosphere to round out the day.

Funds raised from the event will go towards new outdoor seating and furniture around the school, creating places for students to gather, connect, learn and enjoy for years to come.

A huge thank you to everyone who walked, volunteered, sponsored, donated, organised and supported the event. It was a pleasure for our family to host the walk and be part of an event that will leave a lasting benefit for the children of Hereworth.

Thank you for spending your Sunday with us.

Special thanks also to Venita Simcox for some great snaps too!

June has arrived at Te Aratipi.

The hills are vivid green, the days are shorter, and another season is underway on the farm.

While we’re busy shearing, scanning and set stocking for spring, we’re also sharing this special place with guests and quietly working away on a few exciting projects of our own.

There are some special things taking shape across the station, and we can’t wait to share them with you over the coming months.

Watch this space (and our stories!).

REVIVE

Walk. Breathe. Sauna. Nourish.

A women-only winter solstice retreat at
Te Aratipi.
Designed around warmth, movement, firelight and time immersed in nature, REVIVE invites women to slow down and reconnect through walking, guided breathwork, wood-fired sauna, nourishing food and moments of stillness in the hills and bush of Te Aratipi.

Together we’ll walk the land, gather beside the fire, share a nourishing winter lunch, unwind in the sauna, embrace the fresh winter air and pause beneath the trees.
Created in collaboration with Ō-Studio Hawke’s Bay and The Sauna Project Te Awanga.

Fresh air.
Warmth.
Firelight.
Open space.
Time that isn’t rushed.

Held on the Winter Solstice — the shortest day of the year — REVIVE is an invitation to slow down, warm up and reconnect before the seasons begin to turn again.

Rain on the roof, fire going, and a quiet moment to catch up on your reviews…

And wow…

Reading these reminds us exactly why we started our little farm venture — to share this special place and give people a real taste of farm life, fresh air and something a little different.

We don’t take it for granted. Not one bit.

Thank you for the kind words, the support, and for coming to experience it with us.

(Scroll through — these ones gave us all the feels…)

Autumn might just be our favourite season on the farm.

The poplars are beginning to turn yellow.
The air tastes different.
The mornings arrive a little darker and there’s a soft dew on the grass.

It’s one of the most beautiful times to walk here.

Still days.
Golden light.
That perfect temperature where a jersey feels just right.

The hills feel quiet, the farm slows its pace just a little, and the views stretch on forever.

Magic walking weather at Te Aratipi.

Come walk the farm with us.

We’re quietly introducing something new at Te Aratipi.

The ME Project is a collection of nature-based wellness experiences held here on the land.

Small groups. Open space. Fresh air. Movement and nourishment.

Created in collaboration with experienced local practitioners, each gathering is designed around time outdoors — because this place has always been our reset.

Because fresh air and open hills shift perspective.
Because we all need time that isn’t rushed.

An invitation to step away — and come back to yourself.

The first event is coming soon.
