Thank you to everyone who came to our sale yesterday. We are very grateful for your support.

It was great catching up with old clients and awesome to see some new faces too. We are really happy with the results and it makes all the hard work we put in throughout the year worthwhile.

Another thank you to all of those involved in making the sale a success. We would be lost without you. Many hands make light work. 💪

Here’s hoping the boys like their new homes and do the job they are bred to do.

We have the marquee up, plenty of warm finger food prepared, the halters are on and we are on target for inspections from 11am.

Please take extra care driving on the Virginia Road. There are plenty of potholes to dodge.

Bring your gummies!

We've had plenty of rain this afternoon and more is expected overnight. There is a lot of mud around so make sure you dress appropriately.

But not to worry, the rams are under cover and ready for their big day. The venison burgers will be hot and Mandy’s famous salmon & cucumber club sandwiches are all prepped.

See you tomorrow - fingers and toes crossed for some sunshine in the afternoon.

With a few new followers on here, we figured it was time to say hello - even though we usually prefer staying behind the scenes. Let’s be honest… we’re much better in the paddocks with animals than on social media!

We are Dugald, Mandy & Andrew Rutherford, the team behind Melrose Partnership which includes the Melrose ram stud.

In 2007, we took over Edward and Margaret Orr’s Corriedale stud with its built in footrot resistance. We kicked off our own chapter focusing on health traits - maintaining footrot resistance, selecting for an open face, lack of dags and adding worm resistance (17 years of recording) and now working on fly resilience.

We’re all about breeding hardy, easy care dual purpose sheep. Feel free to have a read of our foreword in our catalogue to see what we have been up to and where we are heading.
