Two Roles Available for Autumn calving in Hikurangi:

Fixed term job available - Dairy Assistant:
Ruatangata West farm - 40 ASH autumn calving farm; TAD milking working with experienced team; 11-3 roster; single person's accommodation.
4 month role fixed term offered with potential to be permanent - commences 1 March 2026

Calf Rearer Manager role Ruatangata West farm - Responsible for managing our Autumn calving (approx 1,700 starting 15th March). Required to rear 400 Hereford bull calves, other 1,300 will be sold after 4 days old each week to private buyers or sales yards. Must have experience and references. Calf rearing team has a written manual with all existing processes & a focus on farm hygiene for calf health. Milking team collect calves from the paddock and bring to calf shed. Smaller spring calving herd in July circa 700 cows. Ideal candidate can feed colostrum to new borns, teach calves to drink on feeder, knows breeds, understands calf illness to identify quickly - helpful to be familiar with MPI/NAIT wand, tagging and rules for selling but can train this if not.
