A bit of a sad announcement ❤️

After two years, we’ve decided to park the Katikati Sunday Market for the summer.

We’ve had some fantastic days, met some wonderful people, helped new businesses get started and created a warm place to trade through winter. We absolutely don’t regret giving it a go.

But ultimately a market needs to be worthwhile for the small businesses giving up their weekends to be there. We can only run on good vibes and hope for so long!

With Waihi Beach starting again soon, we think now is the right time to finish on a positive note and put our support behind a market we know works.

This isn’t necessarily goodbye forever. If the support is there, we may be back for another winter season next year.

For now, we’ve still got two Sundays left — 6 & 13 September, 9am–1pm at Katikati Memorial Hall.

Just Bread will be there, along with all your regular Sunday favorites, so come down, stock up, have a yarn and help us finish on a high. ❤️

After that, many of our vendors will be heading over to the Saturday Waihi Beach Farmers Market for the summer, so you’ll still be able to find and support them — just over the hill on Saturdays.

Thank you, Katikati. It’s been a great two years. ❤️

Here until 1 pm. Blustery out there, Warm and sheltered inside though. See you then.

KK Sunday Market postponed 23 Aug,
back next week, the hall is having one of its annual events tomorrow, normally we would brave outside and we can deal with a little rain, unfortunately we’re expecting gusting cold westerly winds from around 10 AM so it just won’t be pleasant nor safe, we’ve also got quite a few regular vendors who holiday this time of year before the summer season as well as a few away with sickness.

We hope you have a restful Sunday and we look forward to seeing you next weekend.

🌧️ Rainy Sunday? We’ve got you covered — and the hall is heated!

It’s hard to believe, but we’ve now been bringing fresh food to Katikati every Sunday for two years. 💚 And this week, we have a little question for Katikati and our surrounding communities…

Do you value having fresh, locally sourced food available right here on your doorstep?

Every Sunday you’ll find fresh artisan bread from Just Breads, locally grown vegetables and salad greens, ferments, kombucha, honey and plenty of wholesome, locally made food.

Over those two years we’ve loved getting to know our rural regulars, locals and the many travellers who discover us along the way. Now we’d love to see even more of Katikati itself discovering what’s here.

Small markets only grow when their communities use them. More local support means more producers, more variety and more fresh food choices for everyone.

And while you’re out, make a day of supporting local. Katikati has some great things happening right on our doorstep — including our local movie theatre at The Arts Junction. These community spaces and activities thrive when we get out and enjoy them. 💚

So if you’d like to see more happening locally, more often, come and be part of it.

☔ Rain or shine, we’ll be warm and cosy inside the heated hall. Easy rear parking.

❄️ Winter mornings are made for market mornings.

Even in the depths of winter, you’ll find a warm welcome (and a warm hall!) at the Katikati Sunday Farmers Market, this Sunday 9am–1pm at the Memorial Hall.

Stock up on everything you need for the week ahead:
🥖 Just Breads’ famous artisan sourdough and baked treats are back
🍯 Golden Cross Honey
Dr Bucha’s popular Ginger Tonic and kombucha
🥬 Fresh lettuces and salad greens from Liberty Growers
🥬 Don from Aroha Kai with his delicious kimchi and ferments
Real fruit ice creams, Mussel fritters, Fresh doughnuts
🍜 Nui’s Thai Kitchen with a delicious new menu
ALSO EGGS!! Duck eggs, the freshest Chicken eggs, locally and lovingly cared for.

After the market, take a stroll along the Haiku Pathway and enjoy the crisp winter sunshine—it’s a great way to spend a Sunday close to home.

A few of our regulars are taking a well-earned break this week:
☕ CB Coffee
🌱 Grow My Goodness
🥞 Petite Crepe (off sailing the seas!)

We’ll still have plenty of great food, local produce and friendly faces waiting for you.

📍 Katikati Memorial Hall
🕘 Sunday | 9am–1pm

The weather is looking much kinder than first forecast. It might be a little nippy to start, but we’ll be warm and toasty inside the hall.

This week we’re excited to welcome Just Bread back with their hugely popular artisan sourdough and pastries. You’ll also find Laisa’s famous cheesecakes, plenty of sweet treats and cupcakes, loads of fresh seasonal vegetables, plants, and everything you need to stock up for the week ahead.

Grab a hot coffee, enjoy a relaxed Sunday morning, and support your local growers, bakers and makers.

See you there! 🌱

⚽ Football, fresh food & an easy Sunday sorted!

If the kids are climbing the walls these school holidays, bring them down to the Katikati Sunday Farmers Market this Sunday, 9am–1pm at the Memorial Hall.

Stock up for the week with sweet fresh vegetables, mandarins, mega new-season avocados (all varieties), fresh local produce, kombucha, and plenty more. Grab a Fry Bread Burger or some delicious Thai food, then settle in to watch England vs France live on the big screen.

🐶 Family and dog friendly, with plenty of space to relax, play and catch up.

A few of our regular vendors are taking a well-earned break this weekend, so there’ll be a few gaps… and maybe a few surprises too!

🥖 Just Breads is away this Sunday and will be back next week. Gs Micro Bakery is here for your sweet and savory treats inside next to the screen.

See you Sunday! 🌿
