This season, The Landing is glowing with the bright yellow of kōwhai in bloom and the first signs of new growth across the vineyard.

As the vines awaken from winter dormancy, renewed energy returns to the landscape. Flowering kōwhai attract tūī and other native birdlife, while the vineyard enters an important stage of growth that will shape the coming vintage.

Spring has arrived at The Landing and the latest W**e Club allocations are on their way to our members.

Phil is carefully boxing each W**e Club pack, getting them ready to make their way around the country. Inside this season's box, a taste of our new releases: The Landing 2025 Chardonnay, the 2026 Rosé, the 2026 Pinot Gris and the 2019 Madre Chardonnay.

Today is World Nature Conservation Day. At The Landing, conservation isn't a campaign; it's the work we do every day.

Across our 404-hectare property in the Bay of Islands, we're actively protecting what the land holds: 160 hectares covenanted for native bush, wetlands and 45 registered heritage sites.

In 2025, we planted thousands more native trees and continued our regenerative viticulture programme. Small shifts, long-term thinking.

Kaitiakitanga — guardianship of the land — is not just a word we use. It's the reason we're here.

A very special result for The Landing.

Our 2023 Chardonnay has been recognised at the 2026 Sommeliers Choice Awards — an international competition held in the US, dedicated to identifying wines suited to the restaurant and hospitality industry. The awards are judged by Master Sommeliers and leading on-premise beverage directors.

– Double Gold
– 97 points
– W**e of the Year New Zealand

This vintage came with its challenges, which makes this recognition feel especially meaningful. A reflection of the care in the vineyard and the focus in the winery.

Our 2022 Madre Chardonnay and 2022 Madre Syrah were also awarded Gold (93 points).

The Landing W**ery is open this Saturday and Sunday for our Cellar Door Lunch Experience — a boat transfer into the Bay of Islands, a guided tour of our vineyard and historic sites, before sitting down to enjoy spectacular views from our Tasting Room and a wine-matched lunch prepared by our chef.
