A little bit to late to catch up to what rural NZ has been trying to say for nearly 10 years...... oh well. Better late than never. Now to get rid of these trees. Perhaps a super El Nino might do the trick 😳

FORESTRY OUT OF EMISSIONS TRADING SCHEME?

"Forestry should be phased out of New Zealand's "rudderless" emissions trading scheme because it is allowing climate pollution to continue, the country's environmental watchdog says.

"The former architects of the scheme - including himself - "didn't think hard enough" about the long-term dangers of encouraging vast new plantations of highly flammable, storm-prone pine.

"Upton wrote of the "unease" he now felt talking to East Coast hill-country farmers watching land around them transformed into carbon forestry.

"I have listened to farmers wonder aloud about whether volunteer rural fire brigades will be there to defend unmanaged forests planted by distant owners on behalf of equally distant emitters."

Online link to the bidr online sale for our 12 yearling bulls - these are specialist low birthweight, ease of calving bulls with many of them being the first calves of two year old heifers themselves. We do not sell "cull" bulls as yearlings, or at any age for breeding - cull bulls at Mt Mable are steered at a young age or slaughtered.
