Recently we stepped into the unknown for us and gave showing cattle a go at the Royal Canterbury A&P show.
We took along a couple of yearling heifers
Middle Creek Violet MDL V5 (white heifer)
Middle Creek Valentina MDL V10
We were pleased to win a couple of ribbons!
But mainly pleased to get around the ring with no major dramas! Although we did have a minor stumble at one stage 🤣
I enjoyed seeing and talking to the public about the Speckle Park breed as alot had no idea about them, so it was fun to give abit of education and showcase the breed.
A huge thank you to everyone who helped us out!
From advice on the whole tying up process, to clipping and teaching me how to present the heifers! It was certainly a big learning curve!
Thank you to Hannah Donald for helping us with the training of the heifers and being roped into leading one too! You will be Definatly be on the team for next year!
Finally, thank you to my wife Kath Power for holding the fort down with our boys! I know how busy they keep you 🤣
