So last week I got sucked in to adopting a bull calf that was initially destined for the Bobby truck but he somehow got a cut to his thigh which prevented him from going.
The calf rearer got attached & wanted to save him as he has a neat personality. So here he is after arriving last night off a farm in Morrinsville.
He's already about 1 month old so only 2-3 more months til weaned.
His name is 'Cooney' & we think he is a Kiwi X.

She will be kept on to breed from in a couple of years time.

KOR S62 Suzie has had her calf which looks to be a bull (tbc when we can catch it to ear tag & dna). This is her third year calving. We got her as a weaner heifer in 2022.

She is sired by our Stud bull KOR P57 Pedro which makes her 3/4 Speckle 1/4 Angus X.
We will keep her on to breed from in a few years.

Our Speckle Park Angus X brown eared heifer calved early this morning.
Her calf is 3/4 Speckle 1/4 Angus as he is sired by our other stud bull Ricochet.
Ricochet is out of our first breeding dam HSP M6 Mandy.
He was put out to stud to go over our heifers for the first time last year so it will be interesting to see how this calf grows.
Great to see he is now a successful stud bull.

Once weaned next year he will go off to our regular bull buyer
