From two unique sites we grow, and produce limited quantities of terroir-specific wines of great individuality and character. We work to ensure that vines are managed and cropped under sustainable certification, guarante

eing the best quality fruit possible from each vineyard site. Only from exceptional grapes can you get exceptional wines. With this foundation Dom Maxwell and the team in the winery turn the fruits of the season into a wine that is a true reflection of the unique and vibrant attributes and characters of a very special location. Even Romeo Bragato, on loan from the Victorian Government in 1895 to assess prospects for viticulture and wine making in New Zealand, identified and understood the special nature of Banks Peninsula as a unique cool climate grape growing region. And so we continue with, and extend that reputation.

Limited to only 40 cases from the home vineyard in Charteris Bay. According to Yvonne Lorkin these vines are living the dream being basked in all day sun overlooking the harbour.

The 2015 vintage is drinking beautifully with hints of dark chocolate, coffee beans, spice and plum/cherry on the nose and a savoury complex palate with silky soft integrated tannins and a smooth long finish.

It is called a vertical tasting and because our wines are from a single vineyard, i.e. not blended, it truly reflects the differences of each growing year.

Half Acre Pinot Noir 2014
The grapes for this wine have come exclusively from the half acre home site in Charteris Bay and have been nurtured with meticulous attention to quality and yield.

Deep Burgundy in colour. Ripe red fruit with mint and herbs on the nose, and some spice and star anise. Exhibits fresh acidity with a juicy palette in a lingering mineral structure creating a beautifully integrated finish.

Half Acre Pinot Noir 2015
Limited to 48 cases

Ruby red in colour. Savoury complex notes with dark chocolate, coffee beans, spice and plum/cherry on the nose. A very elegant style with soft silky tannins and balanced acidity.

Can be cellared for 5- 10 years.

Half Acre Pinot Noir 2017
Limited to 420 individually numbered bottles

The grapes for this Pinot Noir are from the Half Acre Vineyard, on the southern flank of Lyttelton Harbour crater, on a north-facing, sun-drenched slope, protected from the easterly breeze. This site was first planted in 2000 in a range of Burgundian clones.

The Pinot Noir exudes aromas of cherry and plum with a subtle hint of toasty oak. The palate is rich with blue fruits, red liquorice and chocolate, with rounded tannin. It is finely balanced giving a wonderful length and flow through to a well-rounded finish.

Half Acre Pinot Noir 2018
Limited to 600 individually numbered bottles

This is a luscious Pinot Noir with red and blue fruits on the nose, a whiff of violet florals and smoky savoury oak.

The palate is spicy and rich with fruit density, a fine tannin structure and balanced acidity forming a backdrop to drive a long and full finish.
