Labour Weekend - Let’s go!

Looks like the weather is going to be great for a weekend of fun in sunny Mangawhai. We have so many cool stalls at the Mangawhai Beach Market - including our fresh blooms. Perfect for brightening up the bach, or saying thanks to hosts.

So many gift ideas, and delicious treats to get you through the weekend. Fabulous!

Spring is well and truly in full swing with sunshine, wind and rain and everything in between! The flowers are really starting to come on nicely, so we have a lovely selection ready to go for the markets tomorrow. Come on down!

That was quick! I went away for a couple of nights and got back to this beauty. So lovely.

Peonies like cold winters and are not supposed to flower up here northland with our mild winters. But 7 frosts was evidently enough. We won’t always get that though, so we wouldn’t get blooms every year. I’ll enjoy it while I can. 💕

Peonies! In Northland! Woop woop!

We have had about 7 good frosts this winter, so this might not work every year. But I threw caution to the wind and bought 5 Peony plants this year, just for fun. Because why not? Everyone has warned that I won’t get flowers….

Well I won’t go and plant a paddock full of them. But I am delighted to see these buds. Can’t wait to see how they develop. 💕

It’s such a busy time of year, weeding, getting beds ready, lifting and dividing dahlias, seed raising, mulching, getting new areas prepped, more mulching… and more mulching…

What you see here is less than half of the dahlia beds. So I may be getting a bit carried away…

I’m pooped! But I’m looking forward to see it all in flower again. Soon! The dahlias are all planted. And now we wait.
