All alpacas are now settled into their crates for the journey. They have plenty of space and are all with friends. They have been getting on very well while here. The 4 boys are buddies so will be pretty chilled. The three big girls have their own space so the smaller ones don't get squashed. The main group of smaller girls also get along well so they should all have a comfortable trip.

The export group have left the farm. After an early start (alpacas still have morning dew on their fleeces) they are off. All went smoothly for their health check and loading onto the truck - with carpet on the floor! Grant is doing the airport stage while I do our paperwork. Then Steve will take the reigns for the longest part of the journey.

The latest group of alpacas in isolation right now. They are all getting along very well and after a wet arrival the weather has settled into some mild days with plenty of sunshine. The microchipping has been done and all testing is booked in.

2024 was a year of highs (first grandchild born), lows (lost a dear friend way too early) and challenges overcome (exporting alpacas). Plus many other events to make life interesting. I guess that's just the way of things. We're looking forward to 2025 - spending time with friends and family, camping and more alpaca fun 🙂.

Another early start, all export alpacas have left the farm. They have been a lovely group, very easy going and easy to move around. Apart from one grumpy pregnant girl (she knows I'm talking about her!) they have been a pleasure to look after. More photos to come when they are at the airport

Behind the scenes again, an overlap with the vets worked well. Microchipping and health inspections at the beginning of the export. We work in with an excellent team of vets and they keep us on our toes! The alpacas are very sweet and put up with all the inspections.
