When farmers are making a profit we will support our local retailers and businesses therefore keeping the economy going.

The red meat sector helps power New Zealand’s economy, from small towns to our big cities.

Every day, sheep and beef farmers and processors spend $64 million. That generates another $69 million a day in flow-on spending.

That adds up to $23.5 billion a year flowing through New Zealand, supporting jobs, businesses and the public services we all rely on — from local cafés to hospitals to infrastructure.

When farming does well, all of New Zealand benefits.
