It’s Everest Day! 🏔️🏇

We are just so proud of our homebred Jimmysstar, representing PER INCANTO and Little Avondale, having his second attempt at the richest sprint race in Australasia - $20 million Aus!

Jimmysstar has been selected by the TAB as their slot runner for 2026 and he goes into today’s race in hot form, with a scintillating win three weeks ago in the Gr.1 Manikato Stakes. All the very best of luck to our fellow owners, Ciaron Maher Racing and the Australian TAB as slot holders.

The Gr.2 winner and half brother to Desert Lightning, Oak Hill (PER INCANTO x Isstoora) resumes at Caulfield in the Gr.2 Caulfield Sprint over 1000m. Good luck to Lindsay Park Racing and his breeder Wes Van der Scheer.

Race 10 at Randwick on Everest Day will feature the six time winning, son of PER INCANTO, Rolling Magic. This 6YO has a liking to Randwick and the soft-heavy track so should be a great each way bet.

Ellerslie features the reallocation of the Gr.3 Sweynesse Stakes which will feature Twain. Twain is a 6YO PER INCANTO gelding out of the Gr.1 winning mare, Fleur de Lune. Twain was the winner of last years Gr.3 Sweynesse Stakes and with 7 wins to his name is a great chance to go back to back. Good luck to his trainer John Bell and breeders/owners Elizabeth and Peter Martin.

What a weekend to look forward to on the racetrack with Gr.1’s on both sides of the Tasman 🏇

The biggest highlight for Little Avondale on Saturday is the homebred Evaporate (Per Incanto x Savanna) starting in the Gr.1 Toorak Handicap at Caulfield. Evaporate is drawn well and is training on a treat and should give a great account of himself.

Also at Caulfield is Jimmysstar’s full brother, In’kantoostar. This 4YO by Per Incanto has won 3 on the trot for Ciaron Maher and at each start he just keeps raising the bar. This LA/Pete and Chrissie Algie bred 4YO is very exciting and we are looking forward to the future with him.

Gr.1 winner Gringotts (Per Incanto x Miss Bluebell) starts at Randwick in the Gr.3 Alan Brown Stakes. Gringotts is on track for a 3rd Big Dance in succession in a few weeks time and has the awkward draw of barrier 10 and if he gets a run will be right amongst it.

Two very promising LA bred and sold 3YO’s are starting at Hastings on the final day of their carnival. Fortunato (Per Incanto x Fortune’s Choice) and Incandescent (Per Incanto x Saint Katarina) will go head to head in the 3YO Thomson Suits over 1400m. Another very good last start winner, Zorero (Per Incanto x Lovecharm) starts in Race 7, the Dan E’esposito Memorial 1200m.

The LA bred, reared and sold Desert Lightning (Pride of Dubai x Isstoora) is also in the Gr.2 Schillaci Stakes at Caulfield. A wonderful stalwart, Desert Lightning will be looking to add to his impressive career victories.

The LA bred and owned and leased to Anna Furlong, Luna Capella will start in Race 10 at Ashburton. Luna Capella was twice stakes placed as a 3YO and is a very promising filly.

All the very best of luck to our stallion manager Helen Phinney and trainer Gemma McKay with their Time Test gelding, Sumosaurus starting in the Gr.3 Spring Sprint. Sumosaurus (x Time Test) was very impressive at his last start at Hastings, storming home for 2nd and should give a great account of himself. He will also face fellow Time Test, the Gr.3 winning Omega Boy for trainers Peter and Trent Didham. All the very best to Helen, Gemma and the Didhams.

A terrible start to Louie’s life losing his mum, but he is doing amazing at our foaling unit, hoping for a new mummy!
