Lovely weekend here on the farm 💖

Yesterday I headed along to the Taieri Spinners and Weavers open day and came home with a lovely grey Romney fleece from Bonnie, a ewe belonging to a local BCSBA member. Can’t wait to spin more of it!

We then enjoyed a late lunch with family at Augustine’s Portobello 💙

Today we made the most of the stunner of a day with a visit to the Botanic Gardens, plus a bit of time in the garden and with the sheep.

And of course, I couldn’t resist getting some of Bonnie’s fleece onto the spinning wheel straight away! 🧶🐑

Just a few lovely boys left looking for their own homes on weaning!

Friendly, well handled wethers available: F2 (75%), F3 (87%), F4 (94%) and purebred.

They come from our high health, top show flock, with a strong focus on structure, soundness and temperament.

We also have one fantastic F4 ram lamb available. He isn’t eligible for registration, but he’s a lovely, correct little ram who would make some very cute lambs in the future.

We also have 2 friendly F2 adult ewes available.

Located Mosgiel, Otago. Can deliver locally for contribution to fuel or suggest trusted transport options for further afield.

We’ve really enjoyed being part of the Black and Coloured Sheep Breeders Association of New Zealand since getting into our coloured sheep 🐑🖤🤎

Everyone has been so friendly and helpful, and it’s been great having people we can ask questions, get advice from and just have a good chat about sheep with. It’s also really affordable to be a member, which is always a bonus!

The Association is celebrating 50 years this year, which is pretty special 🎉 We even received this lovely little badge to mark the occasion.

We’re still learning heaps as we go, but we’re really glad we joined and are looking forward to seeing where our coloured sheep journey takes us.

Happy 50th! 🐑❤️
