Just about done lambing just 2 hoggets to go. Things slowly drying out, only got 9mm last week from the southerly but have been getting nice dews in the mornings. Emma will be up on Tuesday next week for the sort up and cataloging of the sale rams. So will put up some ram photos next week.

I love how easy the hoggets are to lamb. This is one of the twins, she had the other by the time I moved a mob of ewes and lambs. Hoggets are half way done in first 7 days.

Hoggets started lambing this week, bit of a cool down in weather only 4mm of moisture with it and frosty mornings. Grass reponding to moisture from rain and dew. Only one mob of late ewes left to dock. Photos of twin mob in temporary yards first time in long time. We usually bring back to the home yards, but with sale rams in the gorge and 4 creek crossings, decided temporary yard was best option. The sheep were very chill in yard, had the sitting down in back pen waiting there turn.

Some great lambing weather again this year, couple short cold spells at start of lambing. We had some snow flurries the day our 1st lambs were born(photo 5 mum made good use of shelter). We are enjoying the rain today, after a few windy warm weeks had dried things out a bit. Got a couple weeks to get some docking done before the hoggets start. Scanning results suggest they come on ground fast. With 50% scheduled to arrive in first 7 days, and 79% due in first 14 days. Hopefully we get some good pasture growth after this rain.

One of the single sire mating mobs of ewe Hoggets, plenty of energy with the autumn sunshine. Been a great couple weeks for late autumn growth.
