☕️Early morning (after my coffee) routine at Callanish Heeler.
( ! long video ! )
The mother was let out of the pup house early.
She has been running around with the other dogs.
Meat gets prepared (here you see a veal brisket, minced meat (mutton/beef/chicken) and a beef brisket bone.
The walk to the pup house was cut short... a lot of hopping and excited dogs walking with me.
A whistle announces "human with food imminent" - and removes the scare factor of a door suddenly opening/unexpected noise.
The rest is pretty straightforward.
Present food and check water and the area.
After that... I leave and let them eat in peace.
Door will be closed.
The amount presented is the ad lib level. They will be very full. But still can chew on the two brisket bones.
They will go toilet in the far off area... then be active for a short while... And go to sleep.
Midday is cleaning time. With mom inside as well (for distraction)...
The rags will get changed, the whole area cleaned and checked, waterbowl changed...
Mom stays with them for the afternoon, finishes off the briskets, chews on the cannon bone ... engages with her pups.
A second feeding at night ... and another day gone.
I spend a lot of time with them at changing intervals.
They are also left to their own devices often. And the door is often close to give them periods of peace and snooze time.
Modern technology helps a lot in watching what they are doing during the day - without being present.
Sleep time is important. And they do sleep A LOT.
I hope you enjoy the little videos of our daily routine here? If you have questions... please put them into comments🙂
