Bordeaux, Napa Valley, Mendoza, Porto. This week, people from some of the most celebrated w**e regions in the world arrive in Hawke's Bay.

From 18 to 22 October, the region hosts the Great W**e Capitals International Annual Conference. Hawke's Bay joined the Great W**e Capitals network in 2023. We've believed in this place for a lot longer than that.

We love hosting groups at The Urban W**ery, and this month we'll be welcoming international delegates to taste what Hawke's Bay Chardonnay can do. Ten styles, one variety, and plenty to talk about.

The north bank of the Ngaruroro River, Ohiti Valley. Bruce Nimon has been farming this ground since the first vines went in back in 2000.

He trained as a w**emaker and chose the vineyard instead. The site has been bringing home international trophies ever since.
You've tasted Kōkako before, in Heartwood. Soon it will have a bottle of its own.

Our 2025 Kōkako Farms Single Vineyard Chardonnay is barrel fermented and about to be released for the very first time. It will be our tenth Chardonnay, and the final w**e in our single vineyard series.

It arrives late November. There won't be much of it.

This one belongs to Bruce as much as it does to us.

Thanks for stocking our beloved Fat & Sassy Chardonnay all these years Shed 2 on the Quay we love hanging out on the waterfront with you!

We're lucky to have one of the country's best right on our doorstep. Tony Bish is somewhat of a chardonnay supremo, crafting around 10 different styles just down the road here in Ahuriri, and honestly we haven't met one of his we didn't love.

They're the perfect match for anything fresh off our seafood menu. Tony and his team are proof that a small family business can punch well above its weight, producing world class w**e from right down here at the bottom of the world.

We've been all in on Chardonnay for over a decade. Next month we release our tenth style. And we've hosted sell-out lunches and dinners where every course is matched to Chardonnay, meat included.
