SHEEP RICOTTA IS BACK! 🐑

And what better way to celebrate than with a proper Sicilian classic Cannoli?!

Sheep Ricotta is the traditional filling for cannoli, but there’s plenty more you can do with it , like cheesecakes, tarts, sweet pastries… or even savoury dishes, like a delicious filling for cappelletti!

We make it here in Nelson with local sheep’s milk, and of course using our Italian cheesemaking tradition.

Who’s making cannoli this week?! 😉

STRACCHINO or STRACCIATELLA?
We get asked this one all the time! 😂

And we get it…
Similar names, both tricky to pronounce, and both VERY delicious..

But NO, they are not the same cheese!

STRACCHINO soft, delicate and creamy, a traditional spreadable cheese from Northern Italy.

STRACCIATELLA a soft, milky strands of stretched mozzarella mixed with cream. The delicious heart of our Burrata 🤍

So next time you find a recipe calling for Stracciatella, make sure you don't accidentally bring home Stracchino! 😉

One thing they definitely have in common is that they’re both made here in Nelson & BUONiSSiMi!
