Fruzo Explosion is a new Young Enterprise business, created in 2014. We are very excited to launch our new product. Fruzo explosion is a sorbet made from locally purchased fresh fruit. Our sorbet is based along the lines of a “gelato” or frozen Yoghurt. Our product is an adaption to the originally sold sorbets. Our product is a new “design” or “recipe” as it is made of fresh fruit whereas commerci
al sorbet and ice-cream/frozen yoghurt companies tend to use artificial or processed ingredients where as our sorbet is made from Real fruit. Our sorbet is going to be produced in a commercial kitchen so it is up to the health and hygiene standards needed to ensure that we can sell it to the community and know that all our equipment is cleaned correctly and hygienic. We will produce our product by mixing fresh fruit in a food processer/ blender and then adding sugar and water and in some cases other ingredients such as lemon juice etc. We will then freeze our product in a large container and freeze for a day; we will then blend the product one last time and serve into the small pootle tubs and put lids on then sell our final product. Our key benefit/ point of difference is not only locally grown real fresh fruit, but with every tub ($3.00) sold, 20Cents is given directly to star ship hospital to help youth and children in aid who are sick in hospital. All our members of Fruzo Explosion think that this is an awesome idea as we think that star ship is at a similar age group to our members so we feel as though we can relate to how they feel when in hospital and we are willing to help them by donating 20Cents per tub of sorbet to try make their time in hospital not as miserable. We have done a small sample test with Fitzroy Primary school students ( a local primary school), we got them to try four flavours of our sorbet, Mixed Berry, Lemon, Peach and we mixed it up with a chocolate sorbet too. We then got feedback from the primary students about what were the “yummiest” and “yuckiest” flavours and why they did or didn’t like them. We choose to do a trial of our product on primary student’s as they are straight up and tell us their true thoughts, also kids are generally fussy so if they liked our sorbet we felt pretty “safe” about the flavour. Our feedback we received from the kids at the local primary and the 100 people who took part in our survey gave us awesome, positive results towards our idea and everyone in general seemed to really like the sound of our product and looked forward to seeing our product being formed and were excited for our product launch where they will publically be able to purchase our product and try it. We have no trademark or patent on our product as we don’t know yet how successful or unsuccessful it is going to be.
