Who’s sitting on the fence of comp BBQ???

If you are wanting to give it a go and see how a comp works, without the added stress of 4 proteins, big teams or the pressures of a sanctions comp, then this Amateur comp is for you.

We are proud to bring a 1 day Amateur comp to New Plymouth on
Sunday 11th June 2023

Time : 8am start (be set up prior to this)

Entry $80

The entry fee includes 2 x racks of Wichita Packing St Louis Ribs & your choice of 8 x Chicken Drums Sticks or Chicken Thighs & parsley

What you need to bring:
Bring a good attitude, your bbq, rubs, table to do your prep on, gazebo & anything else you may need to cook your proteins on.

On the day we will have doing a demonstration on how to prep your meat & also how to make those Lolly Pop Chickens or Pillows.

We also have all the local teams there to help out, give advice and then At the end judge the food you put up.

We have some good prizes up for grabs including Smash Preses, charcoal, wood chunks , rubs and vouchers. The overall winner will get Free Entry into King of the Mountain BBQ Competition

We finally cracked the top 3 in a protein, we have always said that cooked chooks aren’t a fan of chicken but maybe now we are, cheers to Waitoa free range chicken for the best birds around. Cant wait for nzba to update to protein leader boards to see where we sit in chicken, other results not ideal at smoke wars but we will keep working hard, cheers Daniel Green for doing battle with me Scott Tash Siffleet next comp is our hometown King of the Mountain BBQ Competition and we cant wait

The fellas had a great weekend at with 12th place ribs day 1, 4th place ribs day two, 4th open chicken, 5th half chicken and 12th overall, really stoked with our results, now to practice pork and brisket and give top 10 a crack, thank you for a great comp, .nz on board next comp ???
