“It’ll only take a couple of hours”… a common misconception on every farm, meaning you’re in for a long day of good old fashioned hard labour….

Jane’s ongoing mission to hunt down every wilding tree on the hill block and the sentence “there’s only a few and it’s not that steep” actually means there are a hell of a lot more than she thought and you’ll most likely need both your chainsaw and abseiling gear!

Anyway the good news is that the kids are still on a can of sprite/hour for weekend wages and we spotted hundreds of native trees regenerating through the steep bracken slopes.

These are the type of people that need Knighthoods. We were honoured to spend time with the legendary team at the Otago Southland Rescue Helicopter Trust yesterday. A team built on passion, dedication, technology and kiwi ingenuity, to change outcomes in emergencies.

Really proud to present the $10,000 from the sale of Fossil Creek V53 aka “Chopper”, purchased by the Callaghan family (thanks Adam, Virginia and family) over to the team.

Our small contribution to a crucial service in the rural community, these guys have your back.

Thank you to Graeme and Kevin Gale and the team for showing us around HQ, forever grateful for the experience and for what you do for our rural hinterland. 🙏

Moving the Stud cows after a few weeks in the steep ‘Siberia’ block to a slightly sunnier spot, ‘Jacinda’s Bluff’. Theres still a cold socialist wind blowing up there though. A good workout for the team + dogs!

Exciting News!

After spending time at an Otago Southland Rescue Helicopter fundraiser last week we were reminded of just how important Graeme Gale and his team are to every corner of our great southern land!

We’ve chosen Lot 70, a fine Paratrooper grandson with all proceeds from his sale next Tuesday 9th June to go to this great cause.

A great day out for our Bull Walk #2 last week, many thanks to everyone that made it, especially those that travelled long distances. Jane's afternoon smoko averaged a solid 7/10 - still some improvement required before Bull Sale day, 9th June!😀

A record was broken @ Fossil Creek this week!

Last year Blair lasted 42 minutes as Jane’s bull videoing assistant before he was asked to leave, and this year he broke his own record with a PB of only 14 minutes! 😀. Surely there’s a cruisy Council job out there for him or one that doesn’t require patience…
