I decided to sneak back in to Peter Pan Bakery yesterday and taste a couple of items that were mentioned in a previous reel. May I say I was pleasantly surprised. This is a traditional bakery, part of Oamaru’s landscape. I found myself ordering items I never normally would but do I regret it? Definitely not. Chicken, Cranberry and Brie Pie. Coffee Bun (never ever considered one of these) and a cream filled donut. Donut a classic donut. 8/10 photo upside down looked way better. Coffee bun, pretty simple and good. Offered butter which I accepted. 8.5. Pie, pastry perfect. Filling great, big chunks of chicken. Only let down was I didn’t get any cranberry sauce until the last quarter of the pie but did I care? Not really. Recommend everyone going to Peter Pan Bakery in Oamaru and give it a go. Well worth it. Next week I will try some other bakeries to compare.

Time for another pie r***e. This time from Peter Pan Bakery in Oamaru. I’m not a fan of their Strak and Cheese so this time I tried their Pork Belly pie. It was a very good pie. Pastry really good, filling good. Meat was quite strong in flavour so unsure if belly or something else but was definitely yummy. Casual can of green V . Total cost $11.50 ish. 8.5/10

3 weeks ago I travelled through Fairlie/Tekapo. Would be rude to not stop at Mount Cook Fish and Chips. Mrs devoured the Chinese, Fried rice. Had previously had chow mein and now she wants to travel two hours every week for her fix. I grabbed fish and potato fritters. Better than any Oamaru fish and chip shop. Greasy enough to make you think about your childhood fish and chip nights but not so much they’ll stain the company car. 8.5/10

Fish & Chips for Golden Dragon in Oamaru. Cheap. Better than previous times. It is actually edible. Fish is obviously hoki which I dislike. Meat patties is 100% the thin leader meat patties from supermarkets. Chop Suey patties ok. 6/10

Chicken Tikka Pie from Night and Day. Pastry great. Filling average, tasted like any random butter chicken pie. Not much chicken and very glue like. 5.5/10
