Yesterday we had the pleasure of welcoming members of the ACT Party to Trufflewood.

It was lovely to show them around the truffière, share a little of our story and talk about what goes into running a small rural business here in the Bay of Plenty.

If you’ve been to Trufflewood, you may have tried these! Our truffled devilled eggs have become one of my favourite little things to serve on our tasting boards.

They’re incredibly simple — eggs, creamy truffle aioli and a little truffle — but they’re also a perfect example of how truffle doesn’t need to be complicated. Eggs and truffle are one of those combinations that just work.

I’ve been spending a bit of time putting together simple ways to use our Trufflewood products at home, so I’ll be sharing plenty more of these with you.

Trufflewood Tour & Tasting Experience

Come and experience Trufflewood outside of the truffle season with a relaxed and informative Tour & Tasting Experience.

We’ll wander down to the truffière, saying hello to our lambs, chickens and pig along the way. Once among the oak and hazelnut trees, you’ll learn how Black Périgord truffles are grown, what makes them so special, and what goes into caring for a truffière throughout the year.

Our truffle dog Indie will join us and give a demonstration of how she searches for truffles and the important role she plays during the winter harvest.

We’ll then head back to the house to relax and enjoy a selection of truffle-infused treats, giving you the chance to experience some of the wonderful flavours of truffle.

The experience lasts approximately 2 hours.

Please note: This experience takes place outside of our truffle season, so there will be no fresh truffles to find or dig. It is designed as an educational, farm and tasting experience for those wanting to learn more about truffles and enjoy the flavours of Trufflewood.
