During a rampage of drop offs & pick ups on a caffeine fueled ‘Crack run‘ through the Hutt Valley today I dropped into Hills Hats Limited for a bit of a looksy.

It’s always a blast to browse the range of hand crafted/New Zealand made hats on offer there, if you haven’t discovered this jewel of business at 30 Fitzherbert Street Petone, you should, & they’re celebrating 150 years of operation this year!!

I walked out with a new linen number in a rather brazen shade of Fuchsia, yup, they’ll see me coming now!

Simon is a true enthusiast & a dyed in the wool chilli nut, so I left a couple of Chilli Crack sampling jars as a token of my appreciation for their existence.

SCOTTY’S ’ULTIMATE BURGER HACK‘
Here’s an easy hack to take your burgers to that next level.

Use a healthy dollop of Umami Crack if you’re looking to impress the children, Umami Crack has a very moderate heat level.
For the adults who like it a bit hot & spicy, swop out with Chilli Crack.

I use shop bought beef/lamb patties for convenience, use tasty cheese & grill it to near death for a crunchy flavour explosion, use a Ciabatta, Foccacia or sour dough style bun for chewy goodness, plenty of crunchy lettuce, tomatoes, beetroot, avocado & mayonnaise, all the major food groups represented!

This shop is big & already looks amazing.

The big Egg Shop is an ‘egg-citing’ addition to the Kapiti Coast’s already pumping food & beverages line-up, I can feel it, go, go...go!

The Chilli & the Umami Crack has been flying out the door in equal measure, drop in & get fresh eggs & of course a ‘Crack fix’ to go with them.

There’s also a garden shop & you can get a nibble & a coffee as well, destination shopping at it’s very best!
