Sale day is here and here are some of my favourites.

These will be the ones that will be hard to see leave. A firm favourite has always been Shaydoc Doormn Bijoux. She was shown as a calf and always caught my eye. She has bred well too with two daughters looking spectatular. Sells empty.
Another special cow is Shaydoc Windbrook Mascara. Tracing back through a Solomon x Buckeye to an EX4 Raider. She was also halter broken as a calf. We are looking forward to her only daughter calving in this spring. Sells empty.

Shaydoc Ashock Lacoya is a cow that always caught our eye and completed 7799 litres and 585kgs in 296 days. Classified VG 88 this spring and carrying an exciting calf sired by Bullseye.

Last but certianly not least is Shaydoc Album Rakeida who sells freshly calved. She has just calved twins but dont let that deter you as last time she had twins she completed a lactation of 9506 litres, 677kgs in 304 days. She also has a Sidekick daughter selling after her.

These are just four of an incedible group of cows that sell tonight. Bid last and enjoy not only good looking cows but also productive too.

Freshly Calved Cows on Offer:

There are 6 freshly calved cows and 1 close to profit cow in the offering this year as we make the transition to Autumn calving. The cows pictured were purchased to increase our autumn numbers. However, we have decided to offer them in order to add a couple deeper pedigreed cows to the herd. These are only second calvers and fantastic producers.
Also I captured a couple of shots of Lots 28 and 30 during morning milking now they have calved to show how their udders have developed.

If you missed out at Lindale here is your second chance. The Shaydoc herd has been very fortunate to have a large influence of Lindale and Harvest Glen bloodlines. There is a total of 7 animals in the Shaydoc Selection with Lindale/Harvest Glen lineage.

How did the Jerseys come about at Shaydoc? Well…. Linda managed to convince a young lad who was strictly black and white firstly; to show some Jersey cows for her followed by a herd visit to Beledene and then encouraged that boy to acquire a in calf heifer at Hasty River. Linda has always been willing to give a helping hand whether it be advice or offering surplus animals when we required some. In my 1st year Sharemilking I was short on heifer calves and Linda gave me 5 calves to attain my numbers – some of these bloodlines are still present in the herd today. This was followed by the offer of taking the pick of her surplus cows and calves a couple years later when we moved jobs. This boosted the jersey numbers at Shaydoc and is where the huge Lindale/Harvest Glen influence began. From this selection a supreme champion in Lindale Imps Milou VHC 94 was crowned – descendants sell as lots 35 & 45. Also included were members from the B family hailing from Linmore Bravo’s Briberry VHC who have bred exceptionally well and have members selling as lots 25 & 39.

We would like to thank Linda, Mike and Graham for the significant contribution to not only forming the foundation of the Shaydoc Jersey herd but also for the continued support and commandry. We hope that you can also start your journey with some great Lindale/Harvest Glen bloodlines.

Spring Calving Cows:
There are 12 spring calving cows in this years sale and here is a few of the special lots.
Shaydoc Dback Brooke is a very typey 2 yr old Diamondback daughter who has produced 5285 litres and 384kgs in 295 days. In calf to MB- Luckylady Bullseye-ET. A cow that I have admired all season.

Shaydoc Crushbull Issy is the only Crushabull daughter we have and is going to develop into a fantastic cow as she matures. Carrying an exciting pregnancy of Siemers RZ Pazzle 34954-ET.

Shaydoc Aftershock Lacoya is a beautifully put together cow that milks extremely well too; producing 7799 litres and 585kgs in 296 days. She carries a MB- Luckylady Bullseye-ET pregnancy.

Shaydoc Romanos Blessing is one of only 2 Jersey cows offered this year. She is sired by Shaydoc Tornado Romano - a son of Hasty River FD Roseleaf VHC 93, therefore combining two extremely good cow families....the Limmore Briberry and Hasty River Sultan Roslyn families. Blessing has produced 4182 litres and 360kgs in 242 days. She is in calf to Windy Ways CCC Dingo-ET.

Shaydoc Sidekick Liza is a very smart heifer descending for a cow purchased from Locknee. Liza has developed into a striking heifer as the season has progressed. She has produced 4958 litres and 385kgs in 283 days and will be even better next season. Carries the valuable mating of Haveitall Blakey Hinge-ET.

Shaydoc "P" Family:

This family started 28 years ago with Dad purchasing a grade heifer from the Morrinsville Sale - unfortunately they only began registration under Shaydoc. Over the generations they have had to milk on various farms and landscapes to withstand the test of time. When the Shaydoc herd was put together there were 3 members of this family; two sisters - Piana and Pixie and their niece Pippa. A descendant of each will sell.

Shaydoc Wind Pili-TW S1F has been noted in an earlier post and she displays all the credentals that this family does so well - looking good and super productive.

Shaydoc Doorman Piia - TW S1F VG 85 is a daughter of a VG 85 Ralma O Man CF Cricket daughter who improved year on year. Piia had an exceptional 2 year old lactation of 6080 litres and 445kgs in only 275 days - however, this year a hard calving has hindered her potential to top that record. She is carrying an exciting Haveitall Blakey Hinge calf. Both Piia and Pili's twin sisters are being retained to continue this families legacy on.

Shaydoc Doorman Piper S1F VG 86 is a daughter of the great brood cow Shaydoc Hunter Pippa EX 90; who has left us four incredible daughters hence why we offer Piper for sale. Piper is a fantastic production cow producing 7508 litres and 584kg in 277 days last lactation and this lactation has backed it up with 6319 litres and 521kg in 280 days. She sells EMPTY and is currently doing 16.6 Litres and 1.61kg.

Our top 2 year olds sell!

Shaydoc KingDoc Tiani S2F and Shaydoc Wind Pili-TW S1F are both the top producing 2 year olds this season. Unfortunately both are empty so we decided to retain siblings and offer them.

Tianai is a King Doc daughter who has produced 7138 litres and 477kg in 300 days. She is currently still doing 19.8 litres and 1.52kgs with a 20 SCC. Also she has been one of my picks of the 2 yr olds for conformation too.

Pili is one of our last Gillette Windbrook daughters from our phenominal 'P' family; who has produced 6756 litres and 482kgs in 292 days. She is currently producing 19.8 litres and 1.60kgs.

If you are after milky cows with their whole lives in front of them then Lots 9 and 12 are for you.

The Shaydoc "Tans"

The "Tan" family started with the selection of Alcameno MEW Tanna as a replacement for an empty cow when purchasing the herd. Tanna went on to have 4 daughters, produced multiple lactations over 500kg and classified VG 85. A daugther and two grand daughters sell in Shaydoc Selection III.

Shaydoc Seaver Tandra VG 87 is Tanna's 2nd daughter and her best! Now as a mature cow she has really hit her straps doing back to back lactations over 8000 litres and 600kgs. She was also part of the show team as a calf; winning the calf class at the Piako Club show under judge Duncan Pipe. The quality hasnt waned with age as she is still one of the Shaydoc visitors picks. An added bonus is the exciting mating to Walnutlawn PG Lovestory. Also selling is her Sidekick in calf heifer - Shaydoc Sidekick Tansy. A beautiful deep and open ribbed heifer that always catches the eye.

The third and final member selling from this family is a grand daughter of Tanna - Shaydoc Aftrshock Tanisha VG 88. She is a lower set cow with fantastic openess and depth of rib with a wide square udder. Tanisha keeps getting better with each lactation; achieving a lactation total to date of 7709 litres and 539kgs. She is carrying an surperb mating to the recent chart climber - Siemers RZ Pazzle 34954-ET.

A few updates:
Lots 6 and 18 have been unfortunately withdrawn BUT we have two exciting replacement lots.

First is Shaydoc Shadow Trixie GP84. A 6 year old production powerhouse! On the April herd test she was doing 22.1 litres and 2.09kg which has meant she is the highest producing cow to date this season with a lactation of 9410 litres and 706kg. If you like milky, no nonsence cows then Trixie is for you. Trixie traces back through generations of Pen*stone breeding to Glenwood IA Topsy. This family has done exceptionally well for us at Shaydoc - in fact 5 of the 6 cows purchased at the Penoak dispersal were from this family. Let Trixie begin your own Topsy family; she sells EMPTY.

The second is Shaydoc Door Tinisha S2F VG85. A second calved Doorman daughter from a VG86 Clayton Crest Ace from one of the founding herd cows Shaydoc Echo Tineka S0F VG86. This family are all very stylish cows as you will also see by Tinisha's maternal sister Shaydoc Kingdoc Tiani S2F selling as Lot 9. The "Tia" family don't just look pretty but put it in the vat too. Tinisha has done 5571 litres and 441kg in 267 days. A young cow with a big future. She also sells EMPTY.

As the Shaydoc Selection moves closer. Here are some recent herd test highlights of some of the sale cows. Starting off is some spring calving lactation details:
Lot 8: 8101L and 601kg in 295 days @ 6yrs
Lot 7: 7709L and 539kg in 287 days @ 4yrs
These two cows are both from the "Tanna" cow family which will be highlighted later in the week.
Lot 29: 7831L and 547kg in 303 days @ 3yrs
Lot 1: 7079L and 524kg in 295 days @ 3yrs

The in milk empties are milking extremely well and here are a few of the highlights:
Cow 88 - 9410L and 706kg in 300 days @ 6 yrs and still doing 22.1L and 2.09kg. A late addition to the sale and cow that seriously knows how to work.
Lot 17: 19.4L and 1.69kg and tracking for 620kg plus for the season.
Lot 4: 22.4L and 1.56 and looking at achieving about 580kg for the season.
A couple of the 2 year olds that have really excelled this year and selling are:
Lot 12: 19.8L and 1.6kg per day with a lactation of 6756L and 482kg in 292 days
Lot 9: 19.8L and 1.52kg per day with a lactation of 7138L and 477kg in 300 days.

Last is the fresh cows who have started off well with most not being in very long before the first herd test; averaging 24.3L and 1.81kg. The highlight was Lot 32: 28.9L and 2.15kg.
