🎃 SUPER EASY PUMPKIN PATCH EXPERIMENT! 🌱

This Sunday one of the working bee job is trying out a new experiment using food waste to create a super-easy pumpkin patch — perfect for anyone who doesn’t have a vegetable bed.

I made one at the school garden with the kids today, and I’m SO excited to see how it develops over the season! 🥰🎃

It’s a simple way to turn everyday food scraps into something that can help grow food — and you don’t need a huge garden to give it a go.

Come along this Sunday and learn a fun, easy way of growing your own food with me! 🌿

You don’t need to stay for the whole 4 hours. Even if you can pop in for a little while and lend a hand, it would be hugely appreciated. 💚

Let’s turn food waste into pumpkins! 🎃♻️🌱

🌿 Reminder for the Working Bee This Sunday! 🌿

We’ve got plenty of jobs on the go!

If you’re coming along and have spare:
🛠️ Wheelbarrows and shovels
🔩 Long screws for timber
🔋 A battery‑operated drill and skill saw (if you have one)
Please bring these with you.

And one more thing - we’re making compost using the bokashi method, so please save up and bring along your food waste to add to the mix!

Come when you can, stay as long as you like - every bit of help makes a difference.
See you in the garden! 💚🌱

“The Need to Grow” — what an amazing and inspiring film. 🌱

It really reminded me why I do what I do. For me it’s all about the future — our future and our kids future.

What I want for my kids is pretty simple really, but also really important. I want them to eat a good variety of fruits and veg, to actually get proper nutrition from their food, and to understand how we can turn waste into something useful again — like turning food waste back into healthy living soil.

Because when there is no food, nothing else really matters. We need good, nourishing food to build healthy bodies, strong communities, and a better future.

We all know things need to change. Sometimes it feels like a lot and a bit overwhelming, but even the small steps still count.

So let’s not wait around. Let’s keep growing, learning, sharing, and making changes — bit by bit. And most importantly, let’s just start today. 🌱💚

Can we feed the world without destroying it?! Rosario Dawson’s award-winning film The Need To GROW shows the SOLUTIONS — and the real stories of the game-changing innovators behind them.

Last winter I planted an almond tree and a chestnut tree… it honestly took me ages to decide what nut trees to put into such a limited space.

In the end, I figured—just plant what our family loves to eat 🌰

Yes, chestnuts come with those spiky shells 😅 but hey, we can always burn them off in the campfire while toasting marshmallows 🔥

And wow… even from a tiny little first harvest, the taste of fresh almonds made it so worth the wait.
(Also… why are they so hard to crack?! 😂)

Best time to plant a tree was 7 years ago… the next best time is NOW 🌱
