Perfection!!!

A perfect score has been a goal of ours for a while now, and this weekend at Ellesmere A&P we have finally accomplished that goal!

Saturday Nzba results were positive, including trophies for;

1st place Pork with a perfect 300/300🥇
2nd place Ribs with 299/300 🥈
Finishing a respectable 5th overall!

Huge shoutout to Scott Carnochan for putting on another awesome event, and all the work helping everyone behind the scenes.

Cheers to Beckenham Butchery for the pork, Starting with a quality product makes it so much easier to get the results.

Competition Times & Schedule:
8:00 to 09:00 – Arrive and set up
09:00 to 10:00 – Cooks Meeting & Steak Selection
10:00 to 10:30 – Judges Meeting
11:00 to 11:30 – Wings Ancillary Hand-In
12:00 to 12:30 – Steak A Hand-In
13:00 to 13:30 – Anything With Hyoketsu Hand-In
14:00 to 14:30 – Ribs Ancillary Hand-In
15:00 to 15:30 – Steak B Hand-In
16:30 – Awards Presentation

Prize money, trophies, golden tickets and plenty of banter and laughs are guaranteed. Remember that it’ll be almost winter so bring your gazebos, weights, jackets and gumboots just in case. Regardless of the weather this comp will still go ahead so get your entries in ASAP!

🔥🍖Haven’t done beef shorties in ages. Found a heavily marbled half plate from PNP Farms' Butchery - Rangiora and gave it the Voodoo Q Hellgrazer treatment. Went low and slow (for a change) in the Bronco and the result was this…tender and jiggly. So tender I struggled to get a clean cut 😮‍💨😂

📸 Big shout out to the legend that is Dion from We Shoot You Photography for taking some awesome photos of Meatstock Hamilton. Always great for a laugh and banter but also careful to just get the right shot even when competitors are busy without them even knowing he’s there.

🔥Day 2 of Meatstock Hamilton and we finished 8th out of 52 of the best pitmasters and BBQ competitors in NZ and Australia!

Managed to get call ups for our pork ribs and pork with both coming in 6th each. It’s been a massive few days and now a long drive back home down south.

Congrats to Rum and Que winning back to back GC titles and Cook Cartel for RGC.

Thanks for the laughs, banter and epic yarns with our BBQ mates as well as meeting new teams and faces. Time to get back to our families, work and life until the next NZBA comp for us later in the year.

🔥Day 1 of Meatstock Hamilton with SCA steak and ancillaries. It was absolutely scorching in Hamilton for these Canterbury lads but we did okay!
